I have been asked by quite a few people where to get Autism Awareness car magnets, bracelets, and other items. Here are a few links to help with the purchase of items and to obtain useful, quality information about Autism. Knowledge is power, educate and advocate! Hope this helps. :)
Heroes
This page is dedicated to everyone who deals with the daily struggles of Autism. Just over two years ago I created this page with hope of getting the word of Autism out, educating and offering nothing but free information and as much help as I could give to those who needed it, in no way would I use my son's autism, personal story or advice as a way to profit from. Over two years later I am so proud of this network of people and the most respectable group of parents, teachers, therapist, doctors, caretakers, family members a friends, all of who have been touched by Autism in one way or another. We are a team! We are all in this together and we make a stand in the Autism community.
I keep this page as diverse as possible and I remain as open minded with new information, facts, opinions and ideas that surround the world of Autism. I post many of bulletins and through being diverse to all situations, some of the information I post I do not always agree... However, if just one person finds the information helpful, then it was worth posting. Please respect that I am here to help others the best I can. I am not a medical professional of any type, not a therapist, not an organization. I am a Mom. I am my son's biggest advocate. I am "your" friend, a helpful source of advice, though I don't have all the answers, I will try my best to get the answers if it takes all day. We cannot fail as long as we try.
Stay positive! Think positive! Autism does not have to be the fate of our children! For those who are high functioning and find a cure unnecessary, that is definitely your choice and I stand behind you! For those who seek a cure, such as myself... Never give up! We will get there and we must educate the rest of society to understand just how devastating and debilitating Autism really can be! It's so much more than some realize it to be. These people deserve to live, they deserve a future and that is why we need a cure!
Autism is treatable, but as of yet it is not beatable, there is no cure. Anyone who says otherwise is sending false hope to those who so desperately seek answers. What works for one does not necessarily work for all. Keep fighting and supporting Autism Awareness and we WILL get there! You are all amazing people, keep smiling!! :)
Hi.. My name is Michelle and I am from the Cincinnati, Ohio area. I am the mother of two children, one of who has Autism.
My reason for making this page is to gather as many people as possible and spread the awareness of Autism. Whether You are the parent, sibling, therapist, friend or cousin of, or if you are the Autistic one yourself, please spread the word by simply adding the Autism Ribbon to your page. It means so much for all that are involved to help in getting the word out. Autism is a quickly growing epidemic and at the rate it's growing, cannot be left ignored.
Numbers are power and with power comes strength and hope. The challenges that come every single day are both rewarding and hard for both the family and individual who is affected.
My son is my inspiration. Though it tears me apart on some days, there are other days that I am so grateful to have been chosen by God, to take on this challenge with my son, as he has taught me so much in life and made me open my eyes and change in ways I never seen myself.
I will not deny it's hard and does get harder and more challenging each day. But it's part of my life and I refuse to just sit back in denial and act as if there is nothing wrong. I have seen that and it's so sad because it's not about us as parents...It's about the children and their future. So please take the stand and sport the ribbon with pride and hope. Our children are the future and at the rate of 1 out of every 150 births there is Autism, something needs to be done NOW.
I thank every single person who is listed on this page. You are all great people and I will try to send comments of Thanks to every single one of you. If I miss anyone, I will say it now...
THANKS FOR SHOWING YOUR SUPPORT!
