About me: AACA Mission Statement
The Academy for the Advancement of Children with Autism and Other Related Disorders (AACA) is a school committed to the self-actualization of students affected by any aspect of Autism and other related disorders. It is our goal to assist both parents and children facing developmental challenges to focus and build upon strengths while minimizing the manifestations of the disorder. We at AACA understand that research in the area of Autism spectrum disorders is ongoing and hope that we will have answers soon. In the meantime, we believe that the treatment of developmental disorders lies not in one single therapy, but rather in a more collaborative approach. In the end, it is each student achieving his or her best potential that counts.
AACA provides an academic solution for children facing developmental challenges which employs individualized treatment programs geared toward the advancement of each child. We at AACA realize that no two children sharing the same diagnosis will respond equally to the same exact course of treatment. Additionally, we are aware that transition is extremely difficult for most children facing these types of challenges. Therefore, we have determined that to achieve the best results it is necessary to make many different types of treatments available so that each child’s specific needs can be addressed.
The treatment modalities offered at AACA are the most cutting-edge, research-based treatments available to date. Our services are provided either onsite as part of an individualized education plan while attending the academy or as clinic-based services.
The staff at AACA is licensed, credentialed or appropriately trained in their particular areas of specialization. Each staff member shares the AACA philosophy and vision regarding treatment. They work hard to collaborate with each student’s family/caregiver, school (in the case of clinic-based services) and community organizations. The staff is especially conscientious in maintaining an open line of communication with all therapists and treatment providers caring for each student.
The Academy’s main goal is to give each child that we work with all the tools necessary to reach the highest level of academic and social success that he/she is capable of achieving.
Who I'd like to meet: People with children with autism and other developmental disorders. Just people who want to help support our school and the growth and understanding of autism.
I would also like to meet people with a voice: Those who have to influence, drive and power to effect a change in the system! I want to meet all the warriors out there interested in changing the way in which our children are treated and viewed by society.
Here it is - your chance to play a vital role in deciding the outcome of the most important poll in dance music.
DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJs Poll is taken so seriously by clubbers, promoters and DJ's worldwide for one reason - because it is a 100% public vote.
You can vote for any DJ, from the guy in your local bar, to the big international superstars, meaning there is no better measure of which DJ's are most popular on dancefloors across the globe.
