Any of too many variations of working with ideas or my hands.
Music
Fun, playful music of most any genre. Sage Francis and Linkin Park for their social commentary.
Movies
Most of them, but especially Real Genius, Princess Bride, Twister (yes, I know - don't ask), Pirates of the Caribbean, French Kiss ... it depends on my mood.
Television
PBS, History Channel, Discovery Channel, and The CW (BEFORE they canceled Veronica Mars)
Books
Most any, but I am best known for my dichotomous appreciation for both thought-provoking text books and non-fiction and "brain-candy" historical romance novels.
Heroes
Eleanor Roosevelt, Ghandi, Martin Luther King Jr., Jimmy Carter are all people I greatly admire for taking a stand for what they believe in against social pressure.

About me: My dream has always been to become a Renaissance Woman and I think I'm on my way. I'm a licensed 5-12 Social Studies teacher and substitute in the Wayzata, MN school district, I own my own jewelry and bead design business, I write, I coach fencing, and am finshing up my last semester for my M.Ed and certificate in Gifted Education and Talent Development, then want to apply to the U of Wash for a Ph.D in History - Medieval History. I am also married to a totally cute boy named Sean.
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone who has interesting ideas or hobbies. Anyone who likes to ask questions and wonders "why," and likes to have deep and challenging conversations about ideas.
Also, any variety of high-powered/successful/ambitious individual since my historical research revolves around understanding the decision-making and social connections of the 12th and 13th century ruling class in England, and getting to know modern analogs is always helpful.
