MySpace a place for friends

Formed in 2005, AUTODIVINE have sought to walk the bridges that merge the different tastes of each member.

In 2004 Con Chrisoulis, an award-winning comicbook artist who has been published both in Australia and Greece, wrote the lyrics and music to a concept album, named “IntroSpective Fusion and the Syndicate Revolution” which he planned on recording on his own in order to supplement his Greek small press comicbook, “Tales of Unsurpassed Vanity” ("Ιστορίες Ατέλειωτης Ματαιοδοξίας"). The concept album described the futuristic dystopian world of IntroSpective Fusion, who as leader of the Syndicate Revolution, tries to revolt against the totalitarian regime of RetroSpective Illusion.

However, it soon became apparent that the concept album was growing, both in scope and magnitude, far larger than he, Con, originally thought it would and with the aid of then friend Vasilis Lolos he completed the songs and after gathering drummer Manos and guitarist/vocalist Vasilis Ntzounis they rehearsed and cut a five song unreleased demo in May 2005.
Vasilis Lolos’ comic book career had him move to the U.S. and after trying out a few bass players the band wisely chose Vicky as his replacement.

The band, now consisting of Con, Manos, Vasilis N. and Vicky, soon named the group AUTODIVINE after a mind-melding hours long session (basically by casting votes in a hat)...

AUTODIVINE have since performed the concept album in question live in Athens from 2005-2007 - each member dressed up as their respected characters, much in a glam way - at the Underworld Club, AN Club, the Small Music Theatre, Planet Music and the Athens Summer Festival.

In mid-2007 Manos, AUTODIVINE's original drummer, left the band and, after many auditions, was replaced by current full-time member, Alex.

A book showcasing the illustrated lyrics/story of the concept was set to be recorded and released in 2007/8 accompanied by an audiovisual CD that would have included the concept album itself as well as videos and other neat stuff; however, the band opted to release a six-track EP in Summer 2009 (including only 3 out of 14 concept album-tracks plus 3 new unrelated songs), as the cost of self-publishing the full-length album was far too high.

The influences of each band member stretch from post-punk to black metal and the healthiest ingredient of their joint creativity is the combination of these diverse tastes.

AUTODIVINE have performed live in Athens, Greece at Underworld Club, AN Club, Kinky Kong, the Small Music Theatre, Planet Music, Syxnotites and the Athens Summer Festival with bands such as: The Astronauts, Xiu Xiu, Fuse For Pekar, Victory Collapse, Since Time, Coin, Zebra Tracks, Mary and The Boy, My Sound Projector, Teen Heat, Wish Upon A Star, Whatever Happened To The All-Stars?, The Velvoids, Star Star, The Midnight Toys, Cinekod, Selas, Vafkalima, B-Side Girl, 24 Hours and more.

Below is a new video from our recent gig @ Syxnotites in Athens, Greece on the 12th April 2008, in which we performed the song "Pathetic/Inbred", a song about all the pathetic bastards we hate, as Vasilis mentions as an introduction to the tune...
