Automatic Chi is a new project featuring members of Bellyfull and Green Light. The members of this "new" group have all been fixtures of the Charlotte music scene for going on 20 years in numerous groupings aside from the previously mentioned bands. Original music is being brought to the table from all members of the group, drawing on influences ranging from funk, jazz, middle eastern, blues, and progressive rock. The members of Automatic Chi have also been fortunate enough over the years to share the stage with acts such as Oteil and the Peacemakers, Project Z, Garaj Mahal, The Yonrico Scott Band, Col. Bruce Hampton, The Jazz Mandolin Project, The Motet, John Scofield, Charlie Hunter, The Jerry Garcia Band, and Robert Walters 20th Congress.
"Automatic Chi is as much fun to watch as it is to listen...They execute with ease effects that younger groups spend hundreds of hours contriving in their basements."-An Honest Tune
