for details about my activities please vist.. WWW.FUTUREVESSEL.COM/ORPHANSOUND.. or the aenigmaplasme site.. autonic randiser was the name i used for all material i recorded in 2006-2007 using acoustic guitar in the time-worn troubador and cowboy kind of way, no saddle-bags. it now seems high time to shunt that name off and i will do so as soon as the CD on N.O.T. is released in May 2010. the first track here however is electrical from the 2007 foxy digitalis release. .. "circulatory engines 1" is a sample from body systems studies, field recording of the human body...the guitar still seems to send me something to do; play a feeling of fragility, broken-ness, brightness and a human stumbling into the eventual dust---is that what the guitar sends me to do? or to particpate in music that transforms the material reality of said condition and celebrate in the human unanimity all must recognize in such. well, whatever, there it is... of my admittedly un-tuneable washbucket of a guitar, "better to pass over in silence that about which we can only say nothing". .. the myopia tracks are musique concrete, montage, remixes of sounds and the finale music i provided live for the dance theater project i work with, info at www.djalma.com . ..the cd "autonic randiser", from which sessions some of these tracks come, was originally issued as limited edition on my label Orphan Sounds, with original graphite drawings. ..the drawings (which are on display at www.futurevessel.com/orphansound click visual art) are my own and two of them are still available (but at a significant price because i have grown to love these two drawings, the best of that period. the first you see in the photos here is in the possession of martin in hamburg and one (not depicted here) is with tetuzi akiyama and one more was bought by a guy from sweden who's name i didn't catch. others are on loan or given to patrizia olivia (a.k.a. madame p), maria sepideh guba, olivier pe and kathleen vossen and nancy costantini ...thanks for your visit here and see www.futurevessel.com for other details concerning my activities. --jeff gburek -

For Immediate Release
IMPATIENCE cd by Jeff Gburek (acoustic guitar) with special guest Tetuzi Akiyama, on N.O.T. label, France
It has already been released, on May 15th, Jeff Gburek's, "Impatience", a sequence of semi-improvised guitar pieces (recorded in Berlin 2007-2008), plus one track recorded live with Tetuzi Akiyama (recorded live at Radio Afera studios, Poznań, Poland. And it's about time!
Long ago mixed and ready to go, I had other releases of my electro-acoustic projects--most notably Red Rose for the Sinking Ship on Triple Bath, Virtuous Circles on Absurd and the most recent Remote Provinces on Aural Terrains-- all of which seemed to take precedence. The tracks for Impatience were recorded in my former Berlin flat on Gniesenaustrasse on the 6th floor in the appalling quiet of early summer and coincided roughly with a series of solo acoustic concerts I had been playing around town that year. The title refers rather to the central track, number 2, with its protracted breathing spaces which I assumed would tax the patience of some listeners but which had been growing essential in my playing process. The sense of time without sound creating a new situation for a value in sound is essential for understanding "impatience" as a work not simply for the guitar but as an existential consequence of living through the sound of playing through not-playing. The cd as a whole therefore draws upon the unexpected in several ways: some of the pieces can be taken as tradtional articulations of the guitar without any preparations and at first glance not at all conceptualized. The work, upon closer listening, unfolds from the space-time of a reflective folk-music and gradually opens into wider articulations of space and "outside-time"--
