Il faut apprendre à ne plus être soi-même.
C’est là que tout commence et le reste en découle.
Il faut se laisser évaporer. Laisser ses muscles devenir inertes, respirer jusqu’à ce qu’on sente son âme s’écouler hors de soi, et puis fermer les yeux. C’est comme ça qu’on fait.
Le vide à l’intérieur du corps devient plus léger que l’air alentour. Petit à petit, on finit par peser moins que rien. On ferme les yeux ; on écarte les bras ; on se laisse évaporer. Et alors, petit à petit, on s’élève.

Autumn/Ether uses self-looping to record layers of guitars in an improvisational way, creating sonic landscapes made of calm and tension that can grow in hypnotic patterns or suddenly collapse.
The electric guitars are in turn melodic, aquatic, airy, detailed, textured, abstract or experimental and these qualities are brought out by every strategy available including alternative tunings and unusual methods of play.
The use of self-sampling allows them to multiply and to exist in several dimensions at the same time turning the music into a quantum experience.
This results in a hybrid music with fluctuating contours, characterized by a refusal to acknowledge musical boundaries and an ongoing drive towards discovery.
By confronting the repetition of sound loops with the elements of chance and risks of error inherent in improvisation, Autumn/Ether creates soundscapes which embody the permanent friction between internal balance and external chaos, and provide the soundtrack for an imaginary road movie.
En utilisant les techniques d'auto-sampling, Autumn/Ether enregistre en direct des couches de guitares pour créer de manière spontanée des morceaux aux ambiances contrastées, faits à la fois de calme et de tension, de motifs hypnotiques et de ruptures abruptes.
Les guitares electriques s'y font tour à tour mélodiques, aquatiques, aériennes, obsessionnelles, texturales, abstraites ou bruitistes et usent de tous les stratagèmes (accordages alternatifs, techniques de jeu inhabituelles) pour se libérer d'elles mêmes.
Il en resulte une musique hybride aux contours flous, surtout caractérisée par un refus des frontières musicales et une volonté de découverte permanente.
En confrontant la répétition des boucles sonores à la part de hasard (où d'erreurs ?) inhérente à l'improvisation, Autumn/Ether crée des paysages sonores qui traduisent la friction permanente entre le besoin d'équilibre intérieur et l'omniprésence du chaos ambient et fournit la bande son d'un road movie imaginaire.
