It is the darkness that makes the sun so impressive. The light that invites you to dwell in the shade. This tug of war between day and night, good and evil, light and dark is what makes emerging independent act Autumn Sun so very intriguing. Fusing sophisticated folk grooves with soul tipped intelligent pop, Autumn Sun's music manages to be mature yet inquisitive and bold whilst vulnerable. From their quiet beginnings as a Sunny Coast beach dwelling duo to their current state as a Brisbane based four pieced band, Autumn Sun's constant state of evolution has made them an exciting act to watch. Since forming in late 2006, Autumn Sun have gone on to capture the hearts and ears of audiences with their intimate and energetic brand of live show. And with the recent release of their second e.p 'Gritty Love' and a national tour under their belts, there is no better time to take a step into the Autumn Sun.
- MX Magazine says Autumn Sun are “a band on the rise in 2009”
- The 'Gritty Love' E.P has received airplay on Triple J, ABC (local and national), Hot91fm (Sunshine Coast), 4zzz (Brisbane), fBi (Sydney) Radar Radio (Austereo's online commercial station) and community stations around the world
- Have placed in Top 10 on Triple J Unearthed Charts, Top 5 on Radar Radio Charts and Top 5 on noisehead.com
- Handpicked by Deborah Conway as winners of the ABC's 'Make Yourself Heard' Competition and offered the opening slot at the highly regarded Queensland Music Festival
- Lead singer Jana named as one of the 150 creative people under 30 'Creating Queensland'
- Awarded a development deal from Tsunami Magazine after competing in the Sunshine Coast's 'Acoustic Sessions'
- Performed at The Queensland Music Festival (09), Caloundra Music Festival (07 & 08), Greenfest (08 & 09), Warwick Peace Festival (09), The Moreton Bay Arts Festival (09), Mt Tamborine Peace Festival (07) and are scheduled to take part in the Q150 Shed Tour in December
- Completed first national tour in July 2009
- Heading to U.S in mid 2010 to perform in venues such as the Viper Room in L.A
- Have an ever growing and solid South East Queensland fan base and a steadily building national and international fan base
