The band was started in May of 2004 in New Braunfels, TX. After Jay and Brad's previous project fell apart, they began to look for a guitarist and they found two at once. Brothers Clayton and Travis had been playing guitar together and writing for close to a year before finally finding a drummer and bassist.
Infusing hard influences such as Avenged Sevenfold, Killswitch Engage and Deftones with the melodic styles of Radiohead and Tool, they culminated a complex sound of heavy riffs mixed with intricate melodies. Everyone's songwriting styles started to come together in what turned out to be perfect match. David fit the band ideally more than just on the music side of things. Avarice was now whole and could mature. They are now diligently committed to bringing their art to the masses.
