Avaspo (Audiovisual Asp of Poetry) is a symbiotic poetry and music project launched in 2008. Initially conceived as a creative collaboration between Gabriele (text and vocals) and three musical creators – Vladas, Antanas, and Aivaras – Avaspo has outgrown its boundaries with both audio and visual versions in their first two releases.
At the moment Avaspo consists of five members and collaborates with different video artists. That’s why it reminds more an open project than already formed group.
Three distinct paths of musical styles in band's first single “Atvirukas I Aliaska” (“Postcard to Alaska”) reveal not only the individualism of the aforementioned composers, but also the varied possibilities in the presentation of a poetic text.
The official 10-track album by Avaspo named “Nera Okeano” (“There Is No Ocean”) comes in a special packaging and is including a full experience for your ears so as your eyes. Bonus DVD includes 14 videos (subtitled in both Russian and English languages) by such independent and innovative video artists like Virginijus Malcius, Aurelija Maknyte, Virginija Apsegaite etc. This release will soon be available for purchase online.
