THIS IS DESTINY
we four very different human beings have devined a sound which makes us feel whole.
things have moved very quickly for us over the last year and a half since first finding ourselves. we have made many songs and have many more in the making. there just seems to be unlimited inspiration. by pushing our name out there we have been playing shows and have been amazed at how much response we have been getting from venues. we had always thought it would take much longer to get into some of these places.
despite our rag tag equipment and very low budget we have pulled a sound up out ot the ashes that we truly believe we will never let go of. with avatar among us we attempt to express the shattered idea of humanity and to accept our faults. perfection is an illusion and we never allow ourselves to be so beguiled. we only wish that others can see this as well. damnation is something that we condemn ourselves with and we can avoid this by opening our hearts and deciding to "rise with the smoke of mankind". sometimes our lyrics can be somewhat..... spiteful and that can make us seem like hypocrites at times, however we believe that rock music is all about contradicting yourself. by discovering these self ideas that dont match up we can more fully percieve who we are and can decide who we will become.
the message goes as deep as one would like to dig
and self discovery is never boring
yet at the same time we want the listener to be able to rock thier head to the sound that litterally manipulates all the cells in our body as it vibrates through us. by creating and listening to music we can transcend to a higher realm at times and maybe catch a glimpse of something so much greater than ourselves.
our guitarist, joe stephan, is a pioneer in what he does and does not let up on moving towards something better.
with jared wright our percussion guy we have a beat that is innovative and complicated. he does not try to overwhelm you with overly fast beats that simply draw energy and let it be wasted. he attempts to interperet the vocals and the guitar while finding a way to accent all the parts that he feels are important.
from the very first moment joe and jared were perfectly in tune with each other and with the addition of James' vocal resonance we pull together this tornado of positive energy that is just unstoppable.
with an almost telepathic connection we have a nack for just pulling random material out of our sleaves and making it sound like a seasoned composition. we just feel each other, and time our drop ins with clockwork precision.
our new bassist, Mike is a late addition to the group but so very necessary. we really didnt know what we were missing in our sound until we went one day without that subsonic contribution to our music. without him we just feel...flat. he plays a very complimentive sound to the guitar and follows the drumbeat. and at times he has such a funky way of slipping into our hard rock sound that it just transforms it all into something so soulfilled.
our recordings really do not do us justice seeing as how they are older versions of our music and we were working with a really cheap budget. and dont think for a second that this is all the songs in our list because its not even the tip of the iceberg. we will someday have more quality recording of all of our songs played with quality equipment but it will still not capture the feel of what its like to be in the same room with us. to be in the practice room while were jaming would really help one understand the teamwork involved and the almost silent communication as we shred out something that we have never doen before, never planned, and as luck sometimes has it, can never recapture again.
we hope to see you at a show soon and we really appreciate you adding to the communal energy that we make.
