Avian Sunrise formed in November, 2008 when frontman and pianist Bryan Wehrkamp began writing the song “Your Broken Fall,” a melodic cry of help to the tortured soul of his youngest sister. Shortly thereafter the band began writing and recording the Your Broken Fall EP, which was released in memory of Wehrkamp’s sister in April, 2009. The self-produced album was recorded at Cathouse Studios (The Spill Canvas) in Sioux Falls, SD.
In their short time together, the band has connected with their ever-growing fan base on a deep and personal level. With Wehrkamp’s melodic piano at the center, the band adds moving musical intricacies to create full, epic, and meaningful songs, turning heads and tugging at heartstrings. The band is currently working on new material for a full-length album to be released in 2010.

Hey guys!!! I just wanted to wish you the very best of luck tonight at the show with Owl City. I am really sad I can't be there to hear you guys play. <3 you!!!
Yes thank you all so much for your music. ;) it does help. a lot.
Yeah. That’s the way I like to write too. Before I started writing. I held everything inside. I got to a pretty hard point of cutting, depression, and eventually suicidal thoughts. I like to say I was saved by some friends, aka the band Everfound. It’s a long story. They are the ones who showed me that writing is such a great release. And that there is hope! And you guys. Thanks so much. You helped fill in the missing pieces. An inspiration to me and my music. And hopefully soon my music/ministry career. ..
Well its not exactly like that. Another long story, but for shorts: My dad abandoned us when I was three. And it was very confusing and hurtful. I used to see him about every three months. Then when I was 7, he did some bad, illegal things. And then he disappeared. I didn’t see or hear from him for 8 years. About a month ago, I met him again. And it wasn’t good. He is on drugs and into some pretty b

Thanks for that. I also write music. lyrics mostly. and its alot like what you guys write. real struggles of real people. Not about all the sex, drugs, and parties. Its about real life.
