Avital Raz came from a religious American family in Jerusalem.
She Started Singing at the age of eight in a strict children's chior.
By fifteen, she was singing solos with major Israeli Orchestras.
At the age of twenty, on the threshold of a promising career in opera, Avital moved to Varanasi, India to study Druphad, the oldest form of Hindustani music with Prof. Ritwik Sanyal.
10 years later, She's back in Israel singing Her own bizzare synthesis between east and west.
Recently she has concluded work on her first official Cd entitled Strange Love Songs.
