English .. .. Hailing from Bogota, Colombia, the inception of Awaken trails back to 2002. Awaken launches a powerful sound with strong influences from the best melodic Death Metal. A notorious work in harmonies, an aggressive and hefty vocal performance, and a right in your face firepower bass and drums work make of AWAKEN one of the fiercest metal units in Colombia. With an extensive musical background and participation in well-known bands such as Imperio Mistico and No Silence, AWAKEN members have shared stage with international bands like MOONSPELL and DESTRUCTION. In 2004 they released their first album titled EVOLUTION which was produced by the band. The album was released at the famous Jorge Eliecer Gaitan Theater. During the same year, the band was nominated to the Shock awards in the category of Best Metal Band. Awaken has been invited to share stage with bands such as CRADLE OF FILTH, DARK TRANQUILITY, MONSTROSITY, CARCASS and PARADISE LOST and has participated in the Rock Al Parque festival 2004, 2006, 2008. With a new and improved line-up the band is gearing up to start working in its sophomore album and get back to stage. .. .. AWAKEN nace a comienzos de 2002 en Bogotá, con la idea de establecer un potente sonido con influencias claras del más contundente sonido Death Metal Melódico. Con un marcado trabajo en la armonización de las cuerdas, combinado con la sutil pero a la vez agresiva y emotiva interpretación vocal, todo acompañado con la fuerza de una marcada percusión, AWAKEN se consolida definitivamente como una de las agrupaciones de metal más representativas de Colombia. La trayectoria de cada uno de sus músicos es amplia, participando de bandas como Imperio Místico y No Silence, alternando con las más prestigiosas bandas nacionales e internacionales como MOONSPELL o DESTRUCTION, lo que demuestra el profesionalismo y calidad de la banda. En 2004 lanza su primer disco titulado EVOLUTION, producido en su totalidad por la banda, donde se destaca un sonido compacto, que fue lanzado oficialmente en el Teatro Jorge Eliécer Gaitán. En este mismo año, Awaken es nominada a los Premios SHOCK en la categoría de Mejor Banda Metal. La banda ha sido invitada a acompañar en escenario a bandas como CRADLE OF FILTH, DARK TRANQUILITY, MONSTROSITY, CARCASS o PARADISE LOST y ha participado en las ediciones del Festival Rock al Parque 2004, 2006 y 2008. La banda con esta nueva alineación se prepara a realizar la preproducción de lo que será su segunda placa discográfica, mientras vuelve a escena en varios conciertos. .. ..
