  • Bio

AWAR is the classic embodiment of an emcee. He released a certified classic album, 'Glory Days' in 2005. He has seen most of America whip by through a tour van's window. He was rocked microphones and shattered jawlines alike. Always a consummate professional, he waited a rough apprenticeship in Upstate NY, a place of slate sky and abandoned storefronts. But now his time has come. He is most often found with iCON the Mic King, his rhyming partner on the upcoming "Headphone Classics Volume 1" series. You seen him in the videos too where he drifted with the tide and fell from grace. The man's man and rapper's rapper is ready with his second LP "Laws of Nature"where the Alchemist is rumored to have lent a fiery hand. Box cutter quotables, a private eye's intuition, and a distinctive east coast alto make Awar the finest rapper heard from in a long while. He has his eye to the streets and the notebook, the stage and the booth, the now and the infinite. You don't need to check for him. He will be here soon enough." -Daniel Muessig

It is a rare breed that can manage to standout amongst the newcomers in the music industry. Technically a veteran, the Upstate NY-born, NYC residing emcee AWAR has been releasing music since 2005, finally making a massive impact over the last few years with a string of powerful projects, singles and visuals engrained with vision, razor-sharp lyricism, powerful messages and concepts, box cutter quotables, soulful prowess, strong song-writing ability, and an undeniable ear for top shelf production. A forever constant on Hip-Hop’s biggest blogs and websites, AWAR has been embraced since the release of his pro bono EPs "Things Of That Nature" and "Nature Of The Beast" in 2011. 2012 sees the rhyme slayer embark on the release of his retail debut “The Laws of Nature.” The album boasts an impressive All-star line-up of producers and features including The Alchemist, Nottz, Jake One, Sid Roams, M-Phazes, Vanderslice, Sebb, Evidence, Joe Budden, MURS, Latoiya Williams, Roc Marciano, Stat Quo, Has-Lo and more. It is clear that AWAR is ready to take his live show on the road after gaining such acclaim for his music. Although he has rocked stages in the majority of the US states over the years, his fan base has grown and the brand AWAR is steadily becoming a house hold name to hip-hop listeners.
