Influences
Golden fields, sleepwalking, crop rings, November skinny dipping, tea, costume boxes, samba, dirty flood water, wolfing hour, fog horns, Mighty Boosh, Gotham City, Return To Oz, Max & Where The Wild Things Go, Twin Peaks, Round The Twist ...a lack of budget to go out dancing, or make films...
Hello! We're Awash With AntleR. We love tea. We live by the North Sea. It's cold. We sup vodka & winter soup & write tunes on whatever takes our fancy- ancient desert warfare, schizophrenic bisons, the voodoo greengrocer, lost souls at sea, swollen hearts, baking a blackbird pie, expeditions & lemons, how rubbish we are at chess...
We're currently making a record, so things may be a little quieter gig wise. Some tunes are being recorded in weird & wonderful locations- north sea lighthouses, war bunkers, wild Yorkshire moors, caves. Others are much cosier- round the fireplace, in our kitchens, magic wardrobe & even, shock horror, in a proper studio!
Make friends with us to keep up to date on gig listings and our cd. Come follow our wonderful techni coloured blog.
Thank you for stopping by, see you soon, xXx
"Blew me away..." Sandman Magazine
"Wonderful, amazing & fantastic." Alan Raw, BBC Radio
"The kind of weirdness one might not expect from three orchestra playing, marching band lasses: a chorus of euphoric voices with voodoo stomping, trippy teapot tapping beats. Enchanting, disturbing, infectious." Dirty Harry Mag Rag
"A group of pixies who have wandered off into the woods & found strange musical instruments to play with." Suck My Sound, Manchester
"Kate Bush on Samba" Mark, Sharp St Studios
"... a set that thrilled and spilled off the stage. There's no desire to look cool be cool or follow trends, just an urgency a basic desire to create. If necessity is the mother of invention, then I believe that Awash With AntleR are each her daughter." Michelle Dee, thisisUll.com

it's clear any fan of your act has to be a cut above your average joe what with all these 'stuff' related needs. You hinge on becoming a way of life...
I'm sorry about this but I can't get one of your songs out of my head - I don't even know the lyrics, something like "We walk to the river, Eee Now Yah Hah, Bollish Now Yah" - or something like that... It has a basic guitar sequence at it's route with a 'swampy' tone and rhythmic quality (plus some awesome little additional riffs)... The piano does all kinds of amazing stuff creating a second layer of melody, kind of classical style of playing but creates a kind of trance feel ... And the drum pattern involves two beats, a ‘ping’ from somewhere then a finger click… The different parts come in and go out. The vocals are sung kind of hippy choir-y but with a lovely Kate Bush/Alanis Morrisette kind of bite to the lead creating a kind of sexy/cool vibe. I hope you know which one I’m on about. Point being that it probably will not leave my head until I hear it again. Do you have CDs? I need a copy now. Will pay money.
Good show at the Adelphi last night, the little bit I saw of it - was packed in there and only managed to struggle in at the back for a while, hope to see you again soon. x

Was good to see you too. Thanks for the wonderful show. I'm very much looking forward to seeing you again tonight. It seems you can't get enough of the place at the moment :-)
Unfortunately it doesn't look like I'm in danger of playing any time soon due to just losing our wonderful front woman to a Master's course at the university. Hopefully this will be resolved soon enough and we'll get some shows sorted out. I miss playing live.
