Formed back in 1999 as "TORMENT", A.W.A.S. played its first "real" show in Aarau (Swizerland) as support to Sacrificium.
The first offical demo "Time to Choose", followed in January 2003. During 2003-2005 two songs has been released on the German "Deathophobia" sampler.
After recording the debut album, "Hope", which was independently released in early 2006, Open Grave Records took an interest in the band and signed A.W.A.S. in order to give "Hope" a proper worldwide release on 03rd April. 2007.
Live A.W.A.S. shared stages in Germany and Swizerland with bands like: Sacrificium(D), Immortal Souls(FIN), Antidemon(BR), World Downfall(D), Essence of Sorrow (FIN), Narnia(S), Veni Domine(S), Seventh Avenue (D)...
After some more live activities the band now takes some time to write new material for the second album.

Here was a large group of people. On one side of the group stood a man, Jesus. On the other side of the group stood Satan. Separating them, running through the group, was a fence. The scene set, both Jesus and Satan began calling to the people in the group and, one by one - each having made up his or her own mind - each went to either Jesus or Satan. This kept going. Soon enough, Jesus had gathered around him a group of people from the larger crowd, as did Satan. But one man joined neither group. He climbed the fence that was there and sat on it. Then Jesus and his people left and disappeared. So too did Satan and his people. And the man on the fence sat alone. hree Pastors in the south were having lunch in a diner. One said "Ya know, since summer started I've been having trouble with bats in my loft and attic at church. I've tried everything--noise, spray, cats--nothing seems to scare them away.
Another said "Yea, me too. I've got hundreds living in my belfry and in the narthex attic. I've even had the place fumigated, and they won't go away."
