away from nothing is a three piece alternative rock band from Fort Collins, Colorado. The two founding members of the band, lead vocalist/guitarist Ryan Cruse Auker and bassist Andy Ahlberg, have been playing music together since middle school. Micheal Gorham/drums, answered a flyer at the local drum shop in 2005 and away from nothing completed their long awaited EP, 'So Far' at the Blasting
Room studios in Ft. Collins, CO in 2007. At the end of 2008 Micheal stepped out of playing live shows, but still plays a role to the finishing of the bands first album. Recently, newcomer Zach Kruk, has joined the band with his high energy and intense drumming to help further the progression of the music that is 'away from nothing'.................

46 Bands unite to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Aug 29th, 2009, Civic Center Park, Denver: A day of local food and local music in support of a cure. Denver, CO August 29th 2009- The 6th Rocky Mountain Localpalooza. This eclectic music festival will be held on Saturday, August 29th in Civic Center Park, and will showcase the creative sounds of over 40 Colorado bands on three stages. Top tier local musicians from a variety of genres will be featured from 10 a.m. through 10 p.m. Don't worry we have a little something for everyone.
