I wrote my thesis on a book that many people haven't heard about...it was made into a movie, 2 versions. It's my favorite book of all time: The Member of the Wedding by Carson McCullers. She also wrote The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter if that helps. I loved The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende (think I have the author right.) My other favorite book is called "Women Who Run With The Wolves" by Clarissa Estes, and another all-time favorite is "The Bull From the Sea" by Mary Renault. I loved all of the books she wrote. I historical fiction fan. I've spent so long in college that sometimes now I wake up and the only thing that matters is that I've got no freaking classes today. More school looks likely. But for now I'm happy with the greatest man, a beautiful house, plenty of leather hides for my work, lots of Tarot decks...and still collecting more. I think I have the perfect artist's life, but the price to pay for living outside society rules is a feeling of differentness and a lot of unstructured time. I manage to fill it all up and then some.
About me: Layout made by †Flamedrenâ€
I'm not one who blends in with the crowd. I never had any need to go along and do things the way society tells you to do them. I dropped out of high school and traveled to Oaxaca, Mexico where I lived with my best friend, Danna, on two different trips. Shortly after that I went on a group expedition to Greece. We went by horse and cart through central Greece and spent weeks on Crete. After that I went to junior college in Pasadena and then to the University of New Mexico and later to Cal Poly SLO. Moving to San Luis Obispo from Los Angeles in 1985 was a fantastic idea. I hate L.A. I think it's toxic to all living things. The central coast of California is beautiful and calm. I'm never leaving. Well....if I were given an A-frame cabin up in the mountains, somewhere above 6000 feet, I would consider moving. Until then, I'm in for the duration.
I accomplish nothing in particular that would seem to justify myself to polite society. Being an artist should mean giving up the need to explain why...or so I hope for all of you artists out there. My dilemma now is whether or not to sell my work. It seems almost impossible to decide on how to price my paintings, or my leather bags and tapestries. It's more gratifying to give them away.
Who I'd like to meet:
I'M AN ARTIST WHO MAKES DEER HIDES INTO MEDICINE BAGS, POUCHES AND TAPESTRIES. I ALSO PAINT, WRITE POETRY AND READ TAROT CARDS. I'VE BEEN STUDYING TAROT FOR OVER 15 YEARS....LONGER THAN IT TOOK ME TO PLAY BY THE RULES AND GET MY DEGREE IN ENGLISH LITERATURE. I'VE NEVER EVEN USED THE DEGREE ~OH WELL~ BEING A PERPETUAL STUDENT IS A GOOD THING...RIGHT? I LOVE NOT HAVING TO REPORT TO A NINE TO FIVE JOB BUT I MISS THE SOCIAL PART OF IT AND BEING AN ARTIST ALL ALONE EVERY DAY WHILE MY MAN GOES TO WORK AT THE POWER PLANT (WE RUN A RECORDING STUDIO IN OUR SPARE TIME) LEAVES ME OFTEN ON THE COMPUTER WONDERING IF ANYONE ELSE EXISTS AT ALL.
I'M NEW TO MY SPACE AND SO FAR IT LOOKS LIKE A LOT OF FUN. LESS HATRED THAN THE FORUM BOARDS AND THAT IS ALWAYS A GOOD THING. I'D LIKE TO FIND A PLACE WHERE PEOPLE ARE GOOD TO EACH OTHER ~ EVEN IF IT'S ONLY ON-LINE.
PEACE TO YOU.

I am supposed to pick 12 women (who have touched my life) and whom I think would want to participate. I think that if this group of women were ever to be in a room together, there is nothing that would be impossible. I hope I chose the right twelve. My hugs, love, gestures and communications hopefully remind you how special that you are. Please send this back to me.
Remember to make a wish before you read the prayer. That's all you have to do. There is nothing attached. Just send this to twelve people and let me know what happens on the fourth day. Sorry you have to forward the message, but try not to break this, please. Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive. Did you make a wish yet? If you don't make a wish, it won't come true. This is your last chance to make a wish!
'May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.'
Now, send this to 12 women within the next 5 minutes. And remember to send this back. I count as 1...you'll see why.
