AWOL Da Mindwriter is a underground rapper from Great Neck, who wishes to achieve is goal in his only passion, rapping. His life was mostly about video games and directing but hes taking his future into Underground rapping after listening to Definitive Jux titled songs 4 a couple of years! After listening to Canninbal ox, Aesop rock, Mr. Lif, Rjd2 and El-p he was destined to take his dream into reality. He was currently signed to Koncealed Records a He is also doing underground projects with Rapper and producer Troy Samuel a.k.a. Bigbosshog of Bigbosshog studios.(AWOL's Brother). AWOL stands for Aggressive Writer Outta Line. AWOL has been writing rhymes since the age of 13. AWOL has many afilliates from the underground and are hoping to work with them to get signed with Definitive Jux Records and to work with other artists as well. AWOL wanted to rap since he was 7 years old. He would listen to the radio station like every single day until they would put on some R&B music. AWOL has been listening to rap since he was 5 years old. AWOL loved rap so much that he would buy cd's or record some songs on cassette. As years went by, AWOL started writing his songs with some instrumentals that he downloaded, When he wrote is first song, his brother was amazed. Around 2005 he started writing some more songs and eventually got good. June 18, 2005 was AWOL's most tragic day in his young lifetime. His mother passed away @ the age of 39, because of Kidney failure. AWOL was devestated and wanted to do something about it. AWOL wanted to cause suicide, but then relized that he couldn't because of his friends, family, and most importantly his music. AWOL one day started spittin' freestyles on his camp bus @ the Samuel field Y with his friends and then realized that he can rap. AWOL wanted to take his fun career somewhere...After 5 months went by AWOL then decided to write his first copied song the "Final Frontier Remix" originally made by RJD2, AWOL wrote all of his lyrics by himself and it got him to a point where everybody started listening to it. AWOL then realized that he was popular in his town, eventually everybody in other states started listening to his song. AWOL was then introduced to Koncealed Records where he met the"WARYORS" and started recording with them. AWOL worked hard over the past month trying to get his name out in the underground. When his hometown(Great Neck) was amazed, AWOL then had his first show. AWOL had such a great performance that they wanted another show for him. From there he met a great guitarist by the name of Joe Sidney. Joe Sidney was a great guitarist who had his own band self titled. AWOL then did a show with him weeks later. AWOL was then introduced to Pirates On Cassette Records later on but then had nothing accomplished. As AWOL waited constantly he began to lose his old flow and try to maintain something of his own. In the summer of 2007 he came up with the group "BlAcK eLeMeNtZ" a liberal arts crew that represents the meaning of urban art(rap, graffiti, etc). Their main goal was to turn a local team into a worldwide foundation. The members in the group are local people that AWOL met and had been introduced to in his life but unfortunately didn't work. Then came Bigbosshog. Bigbosshog a.k.a. Bouse is a producer for a rap production label called Space Age Productions(now Space Age Ent.). Bouse has been working as producer for 4 years, his crew members are known as Beesh, DJ Skeet, and Franswahh. In 2008, AWOL formed a group by the name of FRONTLINERZ, a group of underground rappers and producers of 6 people doing what they love best out of what the career has and not what it makes, FRONTLINERZ form of names such as AWOL Da Mindwriter, Dobie, J-Chan, Bullet, Jordan, and ROCk-1. The group has just recently started their group project starting with their first hit single "All that I got", with an outstanding production job due to ROCk-1, with the success of their first hit, the group discussed a later future for the group's career and starting project. Leaving it at that, AWOL is still currently working on his upcoming mini-release,Berserker Logix EP/Mixtape which should be done by Spring 2009.... as for now, AWOL is attending 5 towns College, in Dix Hills, NY for studies in Audio production with a full scholarship to any music college in the country. AWOL is previously working on the FRONTLINERZ project, claiming,"When I have the right chemistry, as in beats wise, instead of using other's beats, I'm going to make some production of my own and remix most lyrics into those beats, and once that's done, the Berserker Logix will be complete, but since I started this project and production, I'm going to work on my group" AWOL hopes that his group visualizes a see-able future for more projects, productions and collabs with MC's. I finally finished up a project I have been working on closely with my homie DJ Trippin' over the past few months.
