Sounds Like
Well, we are primarily a cover band, so we do sound a bit like a lot of people. Never exact, but we dont change much. We "Rock Up" some of the songs, but the music is essentially correct. A little louder, and sometimes a little more drawn out in the lead spots. More rock n roll if you will. For our originals, Ray writes most of it ,so we sound like whatever Ray writes. Ray's writing style seems to be a little light for Rock music, but we make it work, as we did with Baby I'll Be Here. Ray actually wrote that song for his wife Kyle, back when they were engaged, and Insufficient Memory was together. It actually was originally done with just two accoustic guitars and no other instruments, but it has evolved.
Ok so long story and here we go... In the beginning there was a band called "Insufficient Memory". There were two guitar players, a bass player, and a drummer. They needed a singer, and Ray auditioned for the job. After the audition, they no longer needed to find a singer. The lineup was complete, at least for a while. After a few months of practicing and getting ready to play, Raj, the bass player, left the project. The band continued to practice, sometimes with a new bass player, sometimes without any bass at all. After playing a birthday party, the band decided to call it quits. Ray looked up Raj, and they decided to start a new project that would later be called "Borrowed Time." The rhythm guitar player, Craig, and the drummer, Scott, decided they wanted in on it, so the band was effectively just rebuilt, instead of a new project. Being short one guitar player, Ray took over the lead work, while continuing to be the primary vocalist. During this time Ray's fiance, Kyle, began singing a few songs with the band. However, this lineup did not last long either. After a few parties, Raj was removed from the band and the rest of the guys continued on. They found a new bass player, Manny, and played a few shows, and after a few months broke up again. Ray went back to the original plan, and worked on building a new project with Raj. Manny came in to play drums for a while, and there was another guitar player, Sean. Sean wasn't around long, so the project essentially became a three piece with Ray, Raj, and Manny, and Kyle singing a couple of songs with the band. This project was to be called A.W.O.L.... Ray and Kyle got married, and decided for Ray to go back into the military, so it looked as if the band was over, and Manny found himself another gig. Ray and Kyles' plans got delayed, so Raj and Ray decided to build the project back up. Rich Johnson auditioned, and just happened to be a phenomenal drummer. Due to a family emergency, Rich had to leave. We called Scott to see if he was able to play after taking some time away from music to heal a shoulder injury. He was very excited about coming back. So Ray, Raj,...and Scott this is the current line-up and very good friends...
