Brought together by madness and a passion for the experimental (and the unusual), A Woman's Weapon is a punk cabaret band with a unique flair for the bizarre and macabre. With classical vocals and a haunting miniature electric chord organ, this band is far from the typical Jacksonville fair.
A Woman's Weapon has appeared on a compilation album put out by the Radioactive Chickenheads on their Snail Sounds label. The album is called "Mr. Snail's Halloween Party" featuring our song, "The Thing That Wasn't There"! It's spooky cool.

Open auditions for the V-Day UNF 2009 performance of "The Vagina Monologues" will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, in the Robinson Center, Building 14, Room 1700. Everyone is welcome - no theater experience necessary. If you want to be involved with V-Day UNF 2009, but don't wish to perform on stage, we have plenty of backstage and marketing opportunities as well. Performances are scheduled for Feb. 27-28.
I keep thinking about the stark contrasts between you and the other band last night. All their equipment, their meaningful poses and stances, geez and like sixty guitarists on stage - they seemed like decent enough musicians, but the gestures were so... tired, y'know? Whereas you got up there with this tiny organ and xylophone and it was so much more genuinely thrilling and moving. The vocal harmonizing gets me every time.
Yes, the invasion begins soon - the Killer Robots are scheduled to make landfall this Friday! Radar and trajectory tracking confirms that they'll be arriving at 1315 S Main St., which happens to be the location of Backstage Lounge. In order to promote our cause of defense, we're offering a $75 BACKSTAGE LOUNGE BAR TAB for the BEST-EQUIPPED ALIEN OR ROBOT (that is, best costume in Earthspeak). The Soldiers o' Fortuna and Bacon Machinery of Doom await your support as well. So, we'd better see you ready for battle down at the Lounge at 10 pm, for the well-being of your being and humans of all forms!
