Biography:
Awry (pronounced uh-RYE) has a unique sound -- a blend of hot female lead vocals, surf/gipsy/jam/twang guitar, upright bass, and jazzy percussion. It's a sophisticated blend that feeds the heart and gets the body moving.
Awry will be releasing their second album, Speakeasy, in early 2009, featuring the single "So Over U." The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Hard Luck Studios in Brooklyn, NY.
Formed in 2007, Awry has quickly gained a reputation for hot live shows, and truly memorable songs. Recent gigs include the legendary Stanhope House in April and November 2007, the Apple Blossom Music Festival in Warwick, NY, in May 2007, the Evolve 2012 festival in September 2007. Awry’s “Hottie in a Jeep” was played on 89.1 WFDU in May 2007.
Their self-titled debut CD was released on September 15th , 2007, consisting of 13 original songs. Several tracks have been played on 91.9 WNTI FM, including "Thinkin' About It", "Higher", and "Out of the Cold."
