About And What Will Be Left Of Them?
MySpace music Player Skin Code by Eileen

Hi all!

After almost six years, a couple hundred shows, a clutch of singles, one album and three line-up changes it's almost finally time to say goodbye to And What Will Be Left Of Them?

We've got a handful of dates still in the pipeline - and we're still hoping to record a second album of some sort - but as for us as a fully functioning band, The Little Hellfire Club Festival Special @ Marrs Bar, Worcester on 22nd August will be our last ever gig. Fin.

It's been a very long and rocky road to indie obscurity, but we're glad we made it. We got to meet so many wonderful people and play some really amazing venues along the way and it's been a lot of fun.

Massive thanks to all those who've helped us along the way and huge apologies to all that we're letting down - everything has to end at some point though and now seems as good a time as any!

There are 3 chances left to come hug us/get drunk with us/dance with us...

17th July : Swiss Concrete @ The WheatSheaf, Oxford, with our beloved Brontosaurus Chorus http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=90572544145&ref=mf

1st Aug: Nozstock Festival, Bromyard on The Orchard Stage http://www.nozstockfestival.co.uk/NextOne.php

22nd Aug: The Little Hellfire Club Festival Special, Marrs Bar, Worcester - We have one hell of a line-up for you (and Heather is making cupcakes)!!!!

Our Album 'The Hi-Fi Low Life" is still available to buy from popartlondon.com, itunes, amazon.com, play.com, HMV stores nationwide and at the wonderful Task In Hand Shop in the Hopmarket, Worcester

Also, just because we are gone, it doesn't mean we are dead! Chris will still be drumming his heart out in JoePatroni (www.myspace.com/joepatroni) and Evilwitch (www.myspace.com/evilwitchtheband), Joe is now working in music full-time, Pete is working on a solo project, Heather & Chris will still be doing The Fuck up Sessions and Matt will still be found in the pub (with Pete) most friday nights!

We hope to see your beautiful faces at one of our last gigs!

So long, and thanks!

The AWWBLOTeers xxx (Pete, Heather, Chris, Joe and Matt)

And What Will Be Left Of Them? affectionately known as AWWBLOT are a heart-stomping, french-kissing gang of loved-up clatter-poptarts from Worcester. Their debut album "The Hi-Fi Low Life' (apparently a "future classic") was released on March 16th on the PopArt London label and the third generation AWWBLOT family are out on the road NOW to shout about it!
Some nice people have said this about us...

THE LINES OF BEST FIT: “Exceedingly brilliant, dirty scuzzy indie pop that slaps you in the face and demands that you shake the sloth from your limbs and dance like a deranged idiot"

ARTROCKER: “It’s been far too long since their energised buzzsaw pop-punk debut at The Artrocker Club but now these five young party animals are back out on the road again. 'Come With Me/Look In Your Eye' (PopArt Records) is their most infectious single yet and out in October. Ingredients remain an upbeat boy/girl B52s vocal with garage-punk-fuzzed guitar and electro-synth plus warped but danceable new wave rhythms. With The Chalets out of sight and The Long Blondes regrouping, AWWBLOT head the pack alongside the new artrock sounds of Shrag and Fight Like Apes. Several singles down the line with cool labels Filthy Little Angels and The Little Hellfire Club and now a catchy distorted electro-synth punk artpop single ready to sink it's teeth into you, it could just be their moment.”

DROWNED IN SOUND: “AWWBLOT make me want to dance, scream, shout and sing manically, and during the irrepressible finale of 'Kids In America' all four emerge at various interludes. The male/female anti-harmonies erupt in both a homage to The Slits ('Jesus') whilst subsiding in a mist of self-appropriation ('DIY Not Die'). Sure, this isn't your average Jo Whiley fare, but then why would you want it to be? By the time the final notes of 'Kids In America' bring their show to a close, the bass player’s fingers are a squelching wreck of ripped skin and blood. And What Will Be Left Of Them? certainly mean it, man. Who could follow that?”

Hey AWWBLOT and fans thereof

An AWWBLOT track appears on my Louder Than Bombs radio show tonight.

This week the show's pre-recorded and, im pretty sure i get you name wrong, which is obviously a bit rubbish but I'll endevour to get it right next time i play you.

Anyway, you can listen on either 101.8 WCR FM if you live in Wolverhampton or online at www.wcrfm.com (click listen live and follow the simple instructions)

The show goes out at 11 pm tonight (Tuesday)

I should point out, that if you don’t get one of these messages in the future it doesn’t mean I’ve stopped playing , it’s just that I’m currently feeling quite industrious so I’ve got around to posting this message, but there’s every chance in the future that I wont – I am quite a lazy man you see.

Cheers,
James
