Abseits gängiger Klischees und Erwartungen erklingt eine grenzüberschreitende Musik jenseits stilistischer Einordungen - dynamische Klangreisen, geboren aus der Stille. Rhythmische Energie, explosive Dynamik, perkussive Attacken, sphärische Klangflächen und weite Melodiebögen sind markante Merkmale eines eigenen musikalischen Kosmos, dazu imstande, vielfältige Bilder und Assoziationen hervorzurufen.
Im Alter von fünfzehn Jahren fasziniert ihn erstmals der Klang akustischer Stahlsaitengitarren. 1985 erscheint die erste Soloeinspielung “Guitaristic Paintings”. Er beschäftigt sich in den Folgejahren mit allen Spielarten und Stilistiken der Gitarre, kehrt aber Ende der achtziger Jahre zur akustischen Stahlsaitengitarre zurück und spielt in verschiedenen Formationen. Er beginnt, die akustische Gitarre mit Delays, LiveLooping und anderen elektronischen Effekten zu kombinieren und erschafft so eine ihm eigene Klangsprache. Dies führt zu den beiden CD’s “Free Mind” und “Departure” - höchst individuelle und stilistisch grenzenlose Musik. 2007 erscheint die solistisch eingespielte CD “the uplift”, auf der Schultheiß überraschende Seiten zwischen perkussiven Grooves, experimentellen Klanggemälden und melodiösen Balladen entwickelt.

This is bordercrossing music far beyond stylistic categories and popular stereotypes - dynamic soundtrips, born out of silence. Rhythmic energy, explosive dynamics, percussive attacks, spheric soundscapes and long melodic lines are striking characteristics of a highly individual musical cosmos which is higly evocative and mesmerizing.
It was at the age of fifteen, when he was fascinated by the sound of steel string acoustic guitars for the first time. In 1985 his first record “Guitaristic Paintings” was released. During the following years he he studied all stylistic possibilities of the guitar but at the end of the eighties he returned to the acoustic steel string guitar. He starts to combine the acoustic guitar with delays, livelooping, and other electronic effects and creates a musical language of his own. This led to the CD’s “Free Mind” and “Departure”- highly individual music without musical borders. In 2007 “the uplift”, a CD of solo guitar music, on which Schultheiss develops surprising aspects between percussive grooves, experimental sounds and melodious ballads was released.
