Axite went through many lineup and genre changes before becoming the first Speed Metal band from Rhode Island. Fronted by Larry Scott on Vocals and Guitar and backed up by Mike Lynch on bass, Mike (Stein) Rubenstein on guitars and Fred Jordan on drums. Axite opened the doors and led the way for many metal and thrash bands in Providence. Playing with bands like Murphy's Law, The Dickies, Sacred Reich, Wargasam, Crumbsuckers, Atrophy, Phlem, Neutral Nation and more. The band toured all over Southern New England and had write ups in local music magazines, local news papers and national publications like Metal Edge and Metal Hammer magazines. In 1989 the band split up and went in differnt directions. Larry Scott went on to play guitar for Providence pop/punk flash in the pan, Atlantic Records recording artist "Waterdog" as the other members continued on with various other prominant metal bands like Malicious Intent, Tipper Gore and Second Skin. This all begs the question, Where are they now?
