Another Year Colder was born from the minds of Art Fernandez and Tony Pulice in 2006. Long time friends and acoustic duo, they had wanted to break into a full band setting. They set off to find new band mates who shared their vision.
They soon found Bryce Ritchie, a mutual friend and guitar player. Soon after, Dustin Kapps rounded out the group on bass. They Were called Ambient and wrote Stranger to Yourself for a Senior Talent Show during their last year of High School. After graduation, however, the quartet fizzled into obscurity and the duo struggled to regroup. During this time, they wrote Insomniacs Dream and started playing as an acoustic outfit. They continued to write songs, and began the long search for more members.
They recruited friend Jordan Sheffield, former bass player of Dallas Metal Band Midknight Riot; whom they had met at their first acoustic show. They kept in contact and jammed for years; until finally writing what would become their first song as a unit- Angels.
Things were looking up for what was renamed Another Year Colder. Next came When We First Left Earth Pt. 1 and they began playing as a trio. But they felt they needed more members, still.
Jordan met Joe Sanchez while in college and asked the keyboardist to jam with the group. He was quickly added to the line-up.
They began searching for another drummer, as Art felt drawn center stage a la his idols, the likes of Phil Collins and Nick D'Virgilio. The final piece of the puzzle seemed more elusive then once thought, as they struggled to find somebody that fit there needs musically.
