The acoustic duo Ayton & Atherton have been on a path to discovering the intricacies of sound and sonic synergy when you combine these two instruments into compositions with no boundaries. Drawing on their influences from elements of Classical, Flamenco, Bluegrass, and Jazz, they blend these styles together to create an original sound that is all about setting a mood and taking the listener on a journey.
A very orchestral approach is taken during the composition process. Much like the two hands of a concert pianist, their parts are consciously woven together into tightly knit creations that range from richly textured and melancholy, to ridiculously happy and groovin'. While their songs reveal depth and musicianship, with many melodic, harmonic and rhythmic twists along the way, they still remain accessible to the average listener.
Ayton & Atherton are releasing their debut CD "Sweet and Sour" on Oct. 17th 2007. The disc has 12 original compositions that were recorded over the past year. They will be performing around the GTA, so check back for listings of live dates. For booking or general information contact us by e-mail at: info@aytonatherton.ca

Hi guys. You two sound really nice! I'm originally from Toronto too. Nice to see there's still good music coming out of there. When are you guys going to play down here in Tennessee? You guys really should head down to play in Nashville. They'd love you down here.
Nice meeting you guys as well! Your demo CD sounds great, I've spun it a few times! We're going to be booking some gigs in Toronto soon (small clubs), would you guys be interested in playing some with us?
Steve
Haha... Fair enough!
I need an opening line... do you have any suggestions? Want to co-write it?
Your tunes are amazing, by the way, proud to know you!
