She is an alumnus of Morgan State University and Metropolitan College of New York and holds an M.B.A. with a specialization in Media Management.
Ms. Davis’ experience ranges from the field of arts administration/ non-profit arts in the area of general management, publicity and creative development to the entertainment industry, where she has worked in the area of technical production for film festivals, concerts, special events and touring Broadway theater productions.
As an actor/ writer and teaching artist, Maisha has worked for various companies and organizations including, Ogilvy, HBO, The NAACP, The United States Department of Social Security, Johnson & Johnson, Fleet Bank, Jamaica Center for the Arts and Learning, and ENACT, LLC. Her experience as an actor led her to realize the need for quality stories with characters that she could responsibly portray. She has written and directed three stage plays, Life Unscripted, Missing: LOVE, and Broken Wings and Boulevard Dreams and her self-published book of poetry entitled AzadiSong earned her recognition and award by the African American Writers Association of Western New York in 2002. Most recently, her work was selected as part of the 2007 Inaugural Television Writers Workshop hosted by NAMIC, National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications. She is currently in pre-production for a pilot episode of Grounded Essence which she wrote and will star in.
In creating her own roles as well as roles for others, Ms. Davis hopes to become a sustainable creative producer in the industry.
I am a writer, so I'm at times an introvert, an actor, so at times psychotic, a mother, so at so many times nurturing, an artist, so at times a muse, a businesswoman, so at times a bit blunt.....a Scorpio, so at times a bit&*%^@$$@... (grown folks talk), and always, always a lover of life... it is definitely a beautiful struggle..

just wanted to let you know that I have 2 major events coming up in May and to give you some incite on who will be performing. On May 9th On Wax is introducing Chanda rule, a Musical Arranger, Vocalist, and Drummer that will be gracing our stage that lovely evening. She has appeared in a variety of productions, from Shakespeare in the Park in New Jersey, to Hair, The Musical in Europe; sang with Victor Jones along side Mino Cinelu, Papo Vasquez and John Benitez; opened for India.Arie, Angela Bofill, and Amel Larrieux; and performed at various music festivals and venues such as Birdland, Le-Club Moscow, Hard Rock Café, and the Jazz Standard. Her talents are unmeasured within the context of Vocal clarity and control, and now she set her sites on On Wax to tell a story once told by the greats!!!!
May 16th On Wax is excited to present Jesse Boykins III to the stage. This young brotha has the elements necessary to captivate all he encounters with his raw and unique talent. His vocal/Musical arrangements has a remnants of R&B Soul, Jazz, and Ghetto Tech, making him the center of attraction for soulful Saturday evening. So don't miss your chance to experience this masterful singer/ entertainer @ his acme.
