I am a Retired Military Musician with over 22 years of Military Service. I served with the U.S. Marine Corps Bands from July, 1977 through August, 1980. After a year break to attend the Univ of Northern Iowa, I joined the Army Band program and was stationed in Hawaii from 1981 – 1984; The Presidio of San Francisco from April 84 through January 90; from February 1990 through July 1994 the 1st Infantry Division Band, Ft. Riley, KS. I served with the Big Red One during Desert Storm; from July 1994 to July 1995, I went overseas to Korea serving with the 2nd Infantry Division Band; after completion of this tour, I found my way to Ft. Bliss, TX from August 1995 until my retirement in November 1999.
I retired in 1999 out of Ft Bliss, TX and have been playing Bagpipes since 1996. I played with the United States Army Air Defense Artillery Pipe and Drum Corps, playing at the Horse Guards Parade in London for Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, The Queen of the United Kingdom and Head of the Commonwealth.
I taught Bagpipes at Bel Air High School in El Paso, TX from 2000 – 2003, where I took the group to Maxville, Ontario, Canada for the North American Championships in 2003. I moved to the Phoenix area in October 2003. I play Bagpipes locally in the Metro area for all types of engagements.
I finally took the step to complete a degree that was started back in 1980. I’ve attended many colleges and universities over a 20 plus year period. Most of my studies were geared towards a Bachelor of Music Education.
I’ve recently released my first vocal CD and perform locally singing the National Anthem during Spring Training for the S.F. Giants and also the Arizona Diamond Backs, and also performing as Neil Diamond in local shows.
