JESSI RENDON (vocals) from a small Houston TX town and
PATRICK RUIZ(drums) from Queens, NY have been playing together since 2007. They found that they both had a Mexican/Irish background and the name AzKelt (Aztec/Celtic) was formed.
Play originals as well as cover tunes (ex.Led Zepp, Janis Joplin, Heart & even knew hits Rihanna, Amy Winehouse, Katy Perry, Nirvana, Gnarls Barkley, etc. for parties/bars)

AzKelt has seen a couple bass players, our fave bassist Jason Alcantara who joined AzKelt in March '08. Jason still plays with AzKelt part time for their Phili gigs as Jason is finishing school there.
This combination of fiery spirits sparked a hot new sound. With passionate, sultry melodies from Rendon, Ruiz's wicked tribal beats with old school rap influence and Jason's grounded groove, AzKelt has created a unique combo of an Aztec earthy base and unruly Celtic lyrics. AzKelt emotes a raw passionate side of rock.
AzKelt has played almost all musical venues in NYC including Arlenes Grocery, Lions Den now Sullivan Hall, The Continental, Snitch, Ace of Clubs, Mercury Lounge, Knitting Factory and many more. AzKelt has also played various clubs in Queens and Williamsburg including huge loft parties for art events and Halloween.
AzKelt has received nothing but great reviews on their music and the Village Voice quoted, "Led by bellydancing sex goddess, AzKelt combines tribal beats with Celtic melodies," when observed as one of the female fronted bands involved in the Pussy Rock Show in the summer of '07.
AzKelt appeared on TV fall '07 on Poughkeepsie Live Broadcast for a four song set and an exclusive interview with Jessica.
AzKelt puts on a great live performance that will keep you tantalized by sight as well as sound. You can't help but move when you come to a show.
