Azrael's Progeny was founded in the winter of 2007 by Gabriele R. (guitar,keyboards and composition) ,Giuseppe M. (drums) Fabio M (guitar), and Gabriele L. (vocals). Some time later Salvo C. (guitar) , Davide C. (bass) and Serena L. (vocals) joined them ..boards. Since the beginning Azrael's Progeny focused on finding their space in the Metal scene and creating their own style.
As their soundscapes were dominated by both harsh Black Metal riffing and atmospheric keyboard passages, "Melodic Death Metal" seemed to be the most fitting description for their music. Folk elements like acoustic guitars, various percussions and clear vocals combined with nodic folksongs inspired melodies gives the listener the feeling of a musical journey through these dark,frozen ages of history.
Azrael's Progeny's first demo (wich is a full lenght album otherwise) will be terminated on next winter...the songs in myspace are only demostrative, because recorded in early days in our own little recording studio, composed only by a pc and our instruments!! -_-' ...so we're working on most expressive and graceful recordings..; Actually we are searching for contacts with labels and producers.
"Abyogenesis", Azrael's Progeny's new album, offers the atmosphere and the frozen sound of Doom/Folk Metal,and heavy riffs and solos from Death/Black/Melodic music.
Apart from lyrics inspired by Nordic Mythology, this release also brings you an excursion into the realms of the Winter, Frozen Landscapes, Desolation; contrapposed to the harmony and grace in the nature, in its all parts, wich are the symbology of strongness, borning and life.
