Chris is a rare 'repeat' Artist of the Month, but for good reason. There were 2 artists I found on mySpace back in 2005 whose talent compelled me to start doing showcases, one of them was Christopher Dallman.
Dallman's 2004 debut indie CD 'Race the Light' was filled to the brim with beautiful melodies paired with inspired poetic lyrics that were a welcome departure from what was on the radio at the time.
The very first show I ever saw at The Rockwood was when I went to check Dallman out to see if his live chops met up to the recorded version. Clearly I was not dissapointed, and my long amazing journey into indie music promotion began.
Over the years my love and support for Chris has only grown as I would hear new gems polished and tried out at gatherings at my house, and it became evident that his was a bottomless well of talent and inspiration.
Now, five years later, Dallman is finally releasing this long anticipated new material in the form of 2 EPs, the first of which, 'Never Was' can be found on his website (click album cover for link) - and can also be found on iTunes later this month.
This month I will feature 3 songs off "Never Was" and one which I believe will be on his forthcoming EP.
About me: This photo I shot of Sam & Ruby is currently being featured in Essence Magazine as well as promo material from Rykodisc Records:

Loving you truly madly deeply. In other news- cannot believe that we didn't get to spend significant time with you in NYC! Oh wait! We were only there for 14 hours!! Forgot about that reality until just now. So.. back to the point--- Loving you, truly, madly, deeply :)

Well, you've been (cyber) hugged - for making me blogged! ;) What a great post, BJ. And thank you for the heartwarming nod...I'm out of town so just have a sec here. More love and email adoration soon. You rock. Fact. xo
well considering i only play my material every two months and most of those acts on that nite you can see every few weeks in new york city...i think the decision is pretty easy...and it's my birthday. i do hope to see. it's been to long beautiful and i need some bj photos!
Thanks BJ. It's actually for a commercial modeling job I did where I played a "rocker". Nothing quite like pro stylists and a big wind fan to make photo magic, eh?
