(except on Dec 24 & 25 when I will play some holiday music...)
Adrien was one of the most impressive artists that made the top 12 finalists of the New York Songwriter’s Circle contest with her song “When the Curtain Falls”.
Though her name is relatively new to the NY scene, she can fill numerous rooms in Philly where she has spent the last 5 years working with some of the Philly greats like Melody Gardot, Jim Boggia (who sings a duet on her current CD) and bassist Owen Biddle (The Roots/ Jimmy Fallon’s late night band).
Adrien also spent time honing her skills while a part of The Lowlands, a noteworthy roots/folk band that toured the north east extensively.
Her current solo release, A Million Hearts, reflects a diverse writing style that embraces folk and country roots while adding a contemporary popular polish.
She was a joy to behold at the Songwriter’s contest, with a strong, sweet voice and a smile to match – how she managed to elude top honors is a complete mystery to me.
I highly recommend a live show:
for New Yorkers: Dec 9th 8PM at The Knitting Factory in Brooklyn
In Philly: Dec 11th at 8PM at Burlap and Bean
AND
Jan 2nd at Tin Angel 7:30 PM with our own Barnaby Bright opening!!
