While doing a basic Myspace check, I became inundated with fantastic news and happenings that are imperative to share immediately. A more comprehensive and interesting update will be available soon, but for now, here are the cold hard facts.
Scientifc Maps have set an official date for the release of their long awaited EP entitled Galvanic Wizardry. We here at B3nson Recording Company are lucky enough to say that Aaron Smith let us put out this jewel as our 12th official release. The festivities will take place on Friday, July 31st at Valentine's here in Albany. A limited number of copies of the brand spankin' new EP will be availabe, so be sure to get there early and catch Swimclub and Salon Style (Gaven Richard of Kamikazee Hearts), all for 5 bucks!!!
Animals Are People Too, the highly anticipated third B3nson record by We are Jeneric has officially been slated to be available on Sunday, August 9th, 2009. It will be our 20th release, and our 21st will also be a We are Jeneric record, a beautiful recording of the 2008 release show for In the Parlor With the Moon. Both will be available that day onward from www.b3nson.net and from Jeneric .
Seth Tillinghast, also known as our beloved Littlefoot has posted a bunch of brand new songs that will be on his upcoming EP. It will be Seth's debut record and everyone is quite excited about it, especially his bandmates in BEWARE! the Other Head of Science, which is where I found the tip about the new songs. You can find Seth and all his beautiful finger-picking and harmonized vocals in our top friends, along with lots of people worth checking out.
greetings friend, I hope you'll consider checking out this show, it's
the most original that I've been a part of, and we'd love to have you;
Matthew
Loiacono (kamikaze hearts) and I have been working with two very
talented visual artists, Jason Antonelli and Ben Suhr, over the last
couple of months. Ben and Jason have taken our songs/lyrics, and
illustrated interpretations of them onto 3x5in "song cards". Matthew
and I have left all artistic vision up to the artists, offering no
input other than our music.
Now the REALLY neat part;
On
June 20th, Ben, Jason, Matthew and I will be sharing our art with the
good folks at the Bread and Jam Cafe. You (the audience member) will
have the opportunity to determine our setlist for us. Matthew and I
will be performing our songs round-robin style (one song apiece,
alternately) as they are drawn randomly from song buckets, whichever
song card you choose, we play it. As a bonus, you get to keep the song
card you choose as a souvenir of the evening, so you win in two ways-
you get an earful of original music and an eyeful of wonderful art.
Starts with an art opening from Suhr/Antonelli at 6:30 pm, music at 7:30. Hope you can make it!
aw seein' those videos from austin! looks like you had a great time down there! and got a really awesome response from the crowds down there!! congrats! hope to see ya in a couple weeks!
yeah, I didn't do that, Rich did. I don't know how that rumour got started. I hate techno. In fact, I hate keyboards, too. Come to think of it, I don't like music much either...
those barons can really shake it in that video. everyone thinks that video is really great. matt ferguson is so good at capturing the barons and putting techno music to it.
