This is the home of Baba Israel and Yako 440- This dynamic duo brings together two artists with a range of skills that combine to produce quality music and an exciting and high energy show. Baba Israel emcee, Beatboxer, and hip hop didge player is known for his freestyle ability, powerful lyrics, and booming Beatbox beats. He has joined forces with Yako 440, a multi-instrumentalist/graffiti artist who plays the bass, triggers beats, cuts, and Beatboxes with the best of them.
Together they have toured the states playing colleges and clubs as well as internationally at the Big Day Out tour in Australia with Afrika Bambaaata, Aesop Rock, and Mr. Lif and the Low Lands festival in Holland. Baba Israel has released music with Meta Bass n Breath on Bomb Hip Hop records and was featured on the Ming and FS album subway series. He has released a full length album called MIND MUSIC on Velour Records and the album Force of Life with Yako and DJ Center which was released as a single in the US, Japan, and Europe by Bay Area label Wide Hive and as a full length record to critical acclaim in Australia and New Zealand on Earshot recordings. Baba has performed with Full Circle on Broadway at The New Victory Theater, was stung on MTV's Hip Hop practical joke show with Method Man and Red Man, and was featured on BET's 106th and Park. He has been featured in Hip Hop films such as Freestyle, Breath Control, Hip Hop for Hope, and his music was featured in the Freshest Kids Documentary. He has shown in up in DVDs from Chuck D, Roc Raida, and the VH1 Hip Hop week. Baba Israel and Yako 440 released their first effort as a duo titled Beatbox Dub Poetics. They were selected in URB Magazine's Next 1000 2007.
Baba Israel and Yako 440 also co-created Open Thought Productions. This is a production company that creates music for artists, theater, film, and TV. Their production work can be heard on Akrobatik's 2008 release "Absolute Value" (fatbeats) alongside producers like J Dilla, 9th Wonder, and Beatminerz. Open Thought Productions also has a track on soulful singer/songwriter Sparlha Swa's upcoming release.
