Who I'd like to meet:
“Sorted For Es And Quiz” is a brand new night where the disciplines of QUIZZING and CLUBBING collide! Dissecting the best elements of a pop quiz (Cash prizes! Music questions! Teams!) and shamelessly bolting them onto the endoskeleton of indie-clubbing. We’re calling it ‘Qubbing’ (pronounced Kw-uh-bing) but you can call it whatever you want.
Located at Brighton’s most forward thinking venue NEW HERO, the quiz/club hybrid opens its’ doors at 9pm on Thurs May 7th. The pop-quiz kicks off at 9.30pm with imaginative and inventive rounds to test and tease your knowledge of pop, rock, rap, indie, movie soundtracks and a host of other music trivia. Throughout the QUIZ there’s BONUS QUESTIONS that earn your team free shots…….but you don’t claim the free booze until the answer/song is played later on!.........so if the answer to Question 5 is “JAY Z”, and your team get it right, then when the DJ drops ‘99 Problems’ you’ll have the duration of that song to hightail it to the bar and slam your free shots!
The QUIZ becomes the CLUB at 11.30pm with an eclectic playlist skipping from one great song to the next, and there’s always the option of just coming for the quiz or just coming for the club (but it’s probably better if you do both!). Quizmaster and resident DJ Tony of the Sea (BABIES) will be joined by a guest DJ each week including appearances by NEW HERO’s own HENRON (Somewhere in the Universe)
PLAYING MUSIC BY…..Notorious BIG, The Cribs, Michael Jackson, MIA, Beastie Boys, Blur, Vampire Weekend, Public Enemy, Stevie Wonder, Jamie T, The Clash, Dr Dre, Ladyhawke, The Strokes, DEVO, Bruce Springsteen, The Cool Kids……YOU GET THE PICTURE RIGHT?
So forget the tedium of the local pub-quiz. Ignore the predictability of the indie-discos, and check out something that does them both much better........SORTED FOR ES AND QUIZ!
