Babybeef is the name of the electro pop solo project of multi instrumentalist Sarah Carroll Kelly, a Dublin based performance artist. She represents an exciting new Irish wave of ambitiously inventive electronically influenced pop music.
Her music combines pure hyper coloured unashamed 1980's influenced FM plastic pop with darker driven sounds & undercurrents that call to mind The Flirts, Sparks, Kate Bush, Devo and the more modern sounds of LCD Soundsystem and Daft Punk.
To date her live performances have been carefully chosen and have included shows and short tours with Cap Pas Cap, You're Only Massive & RSAG as well as being invited by Sligo's The Model Niland Gallery to perform as part of their New Spaces For Music programme. Babybeef has also performed at all ages music space The Hideaway House in Deansgrange.
In October she continues her relationship with The Model Niland Gallery by performing at the DEAF Festival as part of the New Spaces For Music Programme. Challenging musicians and audiences to interact more with their surroundings, the music, and each other, New Spaces brings live music into unusual settings.
The Babybeef solo show takes place on Friday October 23rd in an exciting city centre venue.
In 2010 she will release her debut album, recorded earlier this year by well respected producer Stephen Shannon at his Experimental Audio Studios in Dublin.
