Influences
Proper heavy funk n soul from the late sixties and early seventies: James Brown & the JBs, Dyke and the Blazers, Fela Kuti, David Axelrod, Sly Stone, Marvin Gaye, Marva Whitney, Syl Johnson, etc... We're also inspired by the new wave of soul that's going on from Daptone and Truth and Soul.
We're a Brighton based band who dig deep funk and heavy soul. We been playing together for almost ten years and have released four 45s and an album (Italian label Recordkicks) in 2008. Our music has been played on Radio 1 by Gilles peterson, Radio 2 by Mark Lamarr (we've done two live sessions at Maida Vale) and on BBC 6 Music by Craig Charles. Europe dig our sounds too. We've gigged in France, Italy, Belgium, Poland, Spain and also Norway. We've also supported Fred Wesley and the James Taylor Quartet. Right now, we're working on our second album, which we promise will be heavier, more soulful, more groovy, and there will be a touch of psyche in there too, courtesy of production skills by The Simonsound...
