The following is an inspirational story about the determination and enduring sacrifice of a group of men on a path of destruction...
Baby Daddy was formed from a group of ex-cons who met as the result of a brief incarceration in a Texas state prison.
Although drugs and petty crime had consumed their daily routines, life on the streets has given them the inspiration and tools necessary to develop as musicians. Though each had shown musical talents early in their childhoods, prison time has given them the opportunity to focus and sculpt their unique sound.
"Time away from the wife and kids was painful, but at the same time, a spiritual awakening," says Tom Roberto, lead guitarist and founding member.
You would often find Tom withdrawn into solitude honing his craft, says John Meglino, bass guitarist, vocalist, and father of nine. "I remember thinking, during a conjugal visit, that our music can actually save us from a life of crime and give us a chance to escape the shoplifting, peddling speedballs, and running hookers for the mob."
It is through this strength and courage that the band has endured many hardships in order to stay together and become an extraordinary force in music today.
