I talked to investigators today, and they are wanting to talk to anyone that knew Riley, her parents, etc., after her birth. They are trying to reconstruct her whole life. If you knew Riley and members of her family, step family, please contact the Galveston County Sheriff's Office at :

Like Maj Tuttoilmondo told me, "Every little bit of information we get, no matter how trivial it may seem, might be a critical piece of the puzzle we need to bring final resolution to this case."
Please pass this information on to any others that may have known the family.
If you have any information on Baby Grace, please contact the Galveston County Sheriff's Office at

Please help identify me, someone must know me
On Monday, October 29, 2007, a fisherman in Galveston Bay found a blue utility box washed ashore on an uninhabited island. Inside the box, my body was wrapped in plastic bags.
I was wearing a white t-shirt, with a short pink jacket tied in the front over it, along with a matching layered skirt. My tennis shoes were white, with pink and purple flowers on them (size 8 1/2). I used to run and play in them, and they would light up when I walked. I had long blond or light brown, wavy hair, down to the middle of my back.
Since noone has claimed me, the Sheriffs here in Galveston, Texas, have named me Baby Grace. I had been dead for at least 2 weeks when they found me, and a forensic dentist said I am between 2 and 3 years old. I could be from anywhere, not just from Galveston. Since Galveston is a tourist area, with a transient population, maybe I came through as a tourist? The Gulf Intercoastal Waterway where I was found in the box is also a major commercial port, with a lot of sea-going vessels moving in and out.
They are working really hard to find out who I am, and to make sure I get a proper burial. People are now calling from all over the country. The FBI is even helping. Someone knows me - is it you?
To light an online candle for Riley Ann Sawyers (Baby Grace), please go to http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=Riley. Please light one every 48 hours as they flicker out after this time. Thank you for helping to keep her memory alive.
John Mitchiner, with Texas EquuSearch, digs a hole for the “Baby Grace” cross on the island where her body was found. Sheriff’s deputies joined them to take the cross to the small island in Galveston Bay following a vigil Sunday,Nov 4, 2007.
Marlene Visser, an artist from South Africa, visited the official Baby Grace website and submitted the below sketch of Baby Grace, revised from the official sketch done by the police sketch artist. It offers a bit of a different perspective on our darling child, and may help a bit more to identify her.
Long ago in a small, far away village, there was place known as the House of 1000 Mirrors. A small, happy little dog learned of this place and decided to visit. When he arrived, he bounced happily up the stairs to the doorway of the house. He looked through the doorway with his ears lifted high and his tail wagging as fast as it could. To his great surprise, he found himself staring at 1000 other happy little dogs with their tails wagging just as fast as his. He smiled a great smile, and was answered with 1000 great smiles just as warm and friendly. As he left the House, he thought to himself, “This is a wonderful place. I will come back and visit it often.”
In this same village, another little dog, who was not quite as happy as the first one, decided to visit the house. He slowly climbed the stairs and hung his head low as he looked into the door. When he saw the 1000 unfriendly looking dogs staring back at him, he growled at them and was horrified to see 1000 little dogs growling back at him. As he left, he thought to himself, “That is a horrible place, and I will never go back there again.”
All the faces in the world are mirrors. What kind of reflections do you see in the faces of the people you meet
