Curtis Michael Anderson (born May 19, 1996) better known as Baby Triggy, is an American rapper. Baby Triggy got his name from Mr. Fingers, who put the stamp on artists such as Jay-Z, DMX, Ja-Rule, and Fabolous. During an initial recording session, Mr. Fingers was impressed with Baby Triggy’s ability to get it right the first time saying he’s a baby gunner, “a baby triggy.” The name has stuck since then.
Born in Queens, New York, Baby Triggy’s career started at the age of ten. He was out with his father when they dropped by one of his dad’s friends’ music studio. Baby Triggy was blown away hearing the sounds of rap music. He asked his dad if he could give it a try and was told “it’s not as easy as it sounds.” His father’s friend said “give him a shot” and shortly after hearing the young man, they both were amazed.
At the age of eleven, Baby Triggy was offered a deal with a major record label. After discussing it with his family, he decided to wait until he was a little older. Since that first day in the recording studio he has gone on to record several songs. “Ice Cream”, “Crazy Days”, “Shine”, “Fran”, “My Imagination”, and “I’m Just a Kid” are all singles that can be enjoyed on Baby Triggy’s MySpace page. He’s quickly amassed over 200,000 friends and over 1.19 million views on his MySpace page! The spectacular new single “Ice Cream” has received phenomenal reviews and over 571,000 fans have listened to it.
Education and school is very important to Baby Triggy. He works diligently in school as well as pursuing his music career. His reverence for school and passion for education is evidenced through his performances at educational concerts and support for the Entertainers 4 Education Alliance.
After performing free-style rap for E-40, Baby Triggy received a keen critique. E-40 (Earl Stevens) is an American rapper from Vallejo California who has successfully released 12 albums. Triggy free-styled for E-40 in New York City. Stunned by the youngster’s performance, E-40 said “And he got that swag though. See what I’m talking about. He ain’t just spitting it. And he got swag. That’s important. A lot of cats can rap, but ain't got no swag or finesse.” Baby Triggy has the swagger (swag) of some of the most notable hip-hop veterans in the music industry.
