Baby Wants Candy, the worlds premiere musical improvisation theater group has entered its 10th year of open run in Chicago. BWC asks the audience for a suggestion of a musical that has never been performed before. The first title they hear then becomes the basis and title for that 60 minute one act musical. Using this format BWC has performed over 1,400 different musicals. Founded in Chicago, BWC has performed completely improvised musicals to sold-out crowds from Singapore to Edinburgh.
Along with the immensely popular Chicago Full Band Improvised Musical now at THE APOLLO THEATRE, Baby Wants Candy has unveiled the opening of BWC NYC and BWC LA.
Jack Helbig, of the Chicago Reader, praises The Improvised Rock Opera, by Baby Wants Candy, shows that the group has become the very model of smart, physical, quick-thinking, and just plain silly long-form improvisation. Edinburghs The Scotsman says Chicagos Baby Wants Candy could convert the most cynical enemy of musicals with their improvised version, which combines creative wit with awesome performances. They are an entertainment phenomenon and I am in awe of their talent. You cannot fail to have your world rocked by these people. I have one word for it: Go! and TimeOutNY awarded BWC Best Visiting Comedy Show asking readers Dont like musical improv? Neither did we until we saw this truly outstanding Chicago troupe.
