Name: Jose / Role: BASS GUITAR, Vocals / Age: 18 / Hometown: Venezuela Bio: Since very little Jose has had a great talent for music. He is not only able to play the Guitar but a variety of instruments like the trumpet or bass among others, in the beginning of the band people were able to witness and see him switch back and forth from the Trumpet to the guitar, however due to band arrangements, He currently resides in Bass guitar playing, rocking it and singing along doing great vocal harmonies along with his fellow members!. (people can check out an old rock project of his along with Domingo or so called "sunday" named “Last Summer” in which he plays guitar and is the lead singer).
Name: Matt / Role: Guitar and Vocals / Age: 19 / Hometown: Jamaica Bio: When it comes to guitar solos and making guitars cry this Jimmy Hendrix lover knows what he is doing. While he also adds his Jamaican feeling to the way he plays the guitar, the true Jamaican comes out when it’s time for him to sing, he does all of the ragamuffin!
Name: Bruce / Role: Trumpet and Vocals / Age: 19 / Hometown: Colombia Bio: Since playing trumpet was not enough, Bruce was given the task of being the MC and providing a hip-hop flavor to Bachaco’s already hot music. This young promise of the trumpet was chosen one of the best trumpet players in all of Miami Dade’s County Public Schools.
Name: Domingo / Role: Drummer / Age: 20 / Hometown: Venezuela Bio: He is also interchangeably called Sunday because of his Spanish name, but he is not as boring as most Sundays. Watch him play and you’ll see by yourself, he’s always with a smile on when on stage.

Bachaco fusiona en su música la Cumbia y el Dancehall. La banda ofrece un estilo fresco y agradable a audiencias de todas las edades y orígenes, debido a la diversidad de la banda, la mezcla de letras en ingles y español y miembros de Colombia, Jamaica y Venezuela. Bachaco le entrega a su público un show completamente lleno de energía que pone a bailar a cualquiera.
En el 2008 Bachaco ganó el concurso "Tu Ciudad Tu Música" de Burger King en Miami, lo que los llevo a entrevistas en televisión y radio nacional. La banda también ha sido destacada en la red social de MySpace y participo en una serie de conciertos de MySpace Latino en Miami. Hasta los momentos Bachaco se ha presentado en festivales importantes junto a ganadores de premios Grammy y Grammy Latino y muchos otros actos reconocidos mundialmente.
Este año la banda ha continuado trabajando en su primer trabajo discográfico, entre presentaciones, con el productor Germán Ortiz, bajo la supervisión de Peer Music, compañía editorial de artistas como Juanes y Molotov, entre otros. De las presentaciones este año, se destacan la participación de Bachaco en el festival musical Cucunubá Pop 2009 al norte de Bogotá, Colombia y su gira por importantes ciudades en los Estados Unidos como Boston, New York, Chicago y Atlanta. Además de esto Bachaco ha asegurado patrocinio de Revolución, ropa oficial de la banda, y YoLlamo, proveedor de telecomunicaciones. Es estos momentos la banda se encuentra grabando su primer álbum, pronto a la venta.
¿Qué significa Bachaco? Bachaco es el nombre que se da en Venezuela a las hormigas corta hojas. El mismo tipo de hormiga se encuentra a través de la Selva Amazónica y en países como Panamá, Colombia y Brasil. El insecto es usado por indígenas venezolanos para crear picante. ¡Se puede decir que Bachaco es un picante musical!

Bachaco’s music is a fusion of Cumbia and Dancehall. The band offers a fresh style that is appealing to audiences from all ages and backgrounds, due to the band's diversity, the mix of lyrics in English and Spanish and band members from Venezuela, Jamaica and Colombia. Bachaco delivers to their audience a live show filled with high energy that puts anyone to dance.
In 2008 Bachaco won Burger King's "Tu Ciudad Tu Musica" contest in Miami and had appearances in national TV and Radio in the United States. Bachaco has also been featured on MySpace and performed at their MySpace Latino Showcase in Miami. So far the band has performed at important festivals along with Latin Grammy winner artists and several other renowned world music acts.
This year the band has continued working on their first record, between performances, with producer German Ortiz, under supervision of Peer Music, publishing company for artists like Juanes and Molotov, amongst others. From their performances this year, the most remarkable have been an international appearance in Cucunubá Pop Music Festival 2009, north from Bogota, Colombia, and a recent tour through Atlanta, Chicago, Boston, New York and Richmond. Besides this, the band has secured sponsorship from Revolucion, official clothing for the band and YoLlamo, telecommunications provider. As of now, the band is currently recording their first album, soon to be released.
What is a Bachaco?(for those who don't know)
The word Bachaco (BAH-SHA-KO) is the name given to a Leafcutter Ant in Venezuela. The same type of ant is found accross that Amazon Rainforest and in countries such as Panama, Colombia, Venezuela and Brazil. The insect is used by Venezuelan indians to create a "picante" (hot sauce). We could say Bachaco is a musical picante!
