In Barcelona’ is the fresh, brand new sound from 2009 by Bach&Gina. Bach is from the north, Gina is from the South, and both had to wait till 2002 before they could finally meet and eventually collaborate musically together. Though coming from totally different musical backgrounds – the former being a saxophonist interested in dub and jazz, while the latter plays guitar and has rock and pop roots – this unlikely duo was brought together by their common interest for electronica. After a few years of working together, Bach hit the road to Barcelona where he spent a year. It was only when he came back that these two decided to work together on an electro pop album project. These guys seems to take malicious pleasure in challenging musical preconceptions about genres and styles, resulting in what could be described as some kind of ‘harmonic dancefloor’. Fluctuating between electro-rock and new disco beat, their music brings Barcelona straight into your ears, a city famous for its parties where punks, geeks, and bp’s are partying crazy style till dawn. It’s actually hard not to smile and dance when listening to B&G’s sound. With In Barcelona, their debut EP, our two heroes – as they like to be called – aim to drift from private party to private party so as to deliver their catchy sound and share their vision of partying, in which everybody fits.
In Barcelona, Bach&Gina, -título que corresponde al nombre mismo de los artistas del grupo-, va a salir a principios de 2009.
Bach nació en el norte, Gina en el sur, y fue en el 2002 cuando sus caminos se cruzaron y por primera vez empezaron a tocar juntos.
Ambos con influencias y estilos muy distintos: el primero, saxofonista de formación, el cual oscila entre música dub y jazz, el segundo, inicialmente formado en guitarra, ubicado entre rock y pop, pero ambos con una pasión en común: la música electrónica.
Después de diferentes colaboraciones de varios años en grupos y estudios de música, Bach se exila a Barcelona durante mas de 12 meses y a su vuelta deciden colaborar para la composición de un álbum electro-pop.
Nuestros dos protagonistas, mezclan entonces, sin miedo, los géneros preestablecidos para dar luz a un género más harmónico de música dancefloor.
Entre rock electrónico y « new disco beat », nos adentran en un atmósfera típica en la capital catalana: con sus clubs, sus fiestas, donde punkis, geeks y bip’s (beautiful people) se enloquecen sin cadenas hacia el alba.
Al escuchar B&G, uno tiene simultáneamente ganas de sonreír y bailar… Con in Barcelona, su primer opus, nuestros dos héroes –como les suele gustar que les llamen- navegan felizmente al corriente de las fiestas privadas vips, ofreciendo este ambiente único, en el cual cada individuo encuentra su propio espacio y papel. In Barcelona de Bach&Gina, titre éponyme de cette formation, vient à paraître en 2009. Bach est né dans le nord, Gina, dans le sud, et c’est en 2002 que ces deux musiciens se rencontrent et s’expriment pour la première fois. Ils sont chacun issus de styles bien différents, le premier, saxophoniste, oscille entre le dub et l e jazz, le second, guitariste, entre le rock et la pop, mais tous deux ont une passion commune pour la musique électronique. Après une collaboration de plusieurs années en groupe et en studio, Bach s’exile à Barcelone pendant un an. C’est à son retour, qu’ils décident d’une collaboration pour un album électro-pop.
Nos deux protagonistes mélangent alors sans vergogne les genres préétablis pour donner naissance à un dancefloor plus harmonique. Entre rock électronique et new disco beat, ils nous plongent dans une atmosphère propre à Barcelone, ses clubs et ses soirées où, punks, geeks et « bp’s » (« beautiful people ») se déchaînent jusqu’à l’aube. A l'écoute, B&G donne simultanément le sourire et l'envie de danser. Avec In Barcelona, leur premier opus, nos deux héros, comme ils aiment à se faire appeler, voguent par-delà les private party, pour dispenser cette ambiance unique où l'on se sent plus à sa place que jamais.
