Things I like....The Cubs, Hockey, Burlesque and Rock and Roll.
I have hosted the 99Rock Hair Club with Kevin Mckay weekdays at 6:20 for the past 5 years and have been affiliated with WKSM since 1997 (yikes!) as a disc jockey under the name Back Door Aly and dance burlesque under that name too and am co-producer, host and performer for the Varietease Cabaret of Chicago. I also work in television as a writer/producer/video editor.
All my life I gravitated to the dark, the dangerous and taboo. I can still remember as a child instead of dreams of being a scholar or athlete I desperately wanted to be apart of pick pocketing gang like in Oliver Twist......on my own, running the streets, hanging with Fagin and wearing dirt on my face, the badge of an orphan! I wanted to wear the satin jacket of the pink ladies from Grease or hang at the house with Dally, Sodapop, Ponyboy and the rest of the greasers before the big rumble. I wanted the mysterious and erotic bite from Dracula and the call to "Come out and plaayyay" of The Warriors. I always root for the villians and would have been thrilled to find Darth Vader was my father.

I mean really is it? A couple of years ago, MySpace use to be where it’s at. Folks were conversing with each other, like really conversing. They were connecting with each other. MySpace use to be a place where like minded individuals could communicate and share interests. Man! I use to be put up on sooooo many indie bands through this site.
Nowadays, it seems as though most people are here solely to stunt and promote. Not that there is anything wrong with promoting. Hell, I always plug my going-ons on MySpace… Like my video blog --YouTube.com/ChasityChaos (shameless self-promotion). This is a great venue to make people aware of happenings, but what happened to the real connections? What happened to the dialog? What happened to the silliness? I miss it!
These days, I spend more time on FaceBook (FaceBook.com/ChasityChaos). So much time, that I have actually been contemplating the necessity of my MySpace page… So I am writing this message to ask all of the MySpacers of the world… Should I give up on MySpace, delete my page and turn to another social site for nourishment, or do you feel in your heart of hearts that there is a possibility of MySpace being resurrected?
