The Boys have been performing throughout the Tri-State area and as far
as Nebraska and South Dakota for fifteen years.
They are a very seasoned group of musicians but most important of all, friends. One might think they are at a National level show when you hear Greg (Big Country) wow the crowd with a heart wrenching ballad. His powerfull lead voice is the foundation for their four part harmonies from Doug,Joe,Charlie and Greg. The smooth, heartmelting sound of Mike on the steel will take you back to the days of the Grand Ole Opry.
Just when you think it can’t get any better, Tim chimes in with a mind blowing Brad Paisley solo. As if that weren’t enough they have Doug on the fiddle to add the unmistakeable Back Home Boys true country sound. Last but not least, the back bone of the band is without a doubt, Joe on the kickin, high energy drum set, with Charlie right behind him on the heart thumping bass guitar.
All of this talent would be for nothing if it wasn’t for the best sound man in the area "Meat". These seven musicians make up the Back Home Boys. Welcome to Wisconsins first ever Big Kountry Music Fest. Held in Bloomington WI, July 4-5 at the Blakes Prairie Fairgrounds. The Back Home Boys would like to see all of their fans at this new country music event. Along with the boys you will hear Country Twist, The DeVilleBillies, Tim & The Floppy Cowboys, Sounds of Nashville and Jerry Schmitt and Country Express. Music will start July 4 around 5:30pm and on July 5 around 12:30pm.
To keep you moving we will have a mini-rod tractor and ATV Pull, put on by the Badger State Dirtflingers. If you have a sooped up mower or an ATV you can find out how to enter at www.badgerstatedirtflinges.com. Several local Firedepartments will be putting on an old fashioned firebrigade contest. If that isn't enough you also get to enter or watch a good ole hay bail toss. For a$5 entry fee you get a chance to win a 90% payback cash prize. Sign up time for July 4 is 2pm, toss will start at 3pm. Sign up time for July 5 will be 11:30am with toss time at 12:30pm. Did I forget to mention that we offer camping? Thats right, camping is included in the low $5 gate fee. Bring your tent, camper, or RV. We have room for all. Some will even have electrical hook-up. For those of you who would like to go to Bagley WI and enjoy their fabulous fireworks display, Worco bus lines will have a bus at the Blakes Prairie Fairgrounds to transport you and your family to the fireworks and bring you back when they are done. Bus diparture will be announced from the main stage, bus will be returning 20min after fireworks are over.
So, make sure you plan your 4th of July weekend with the Back Home Boys for their first ever Big Kountry Music Fest.
