WHY "BACKPACK" APOLOGETICS?
A backpack conjures up certain ideas such as being filled with books or being worn by students and those on the go. It also has become the symbol of "cool" for the underground/artsy part of the hip hop generation.
Plus a backpack imples mobility and ease of use. This is exactly the type of apologetics we want to provide.
WHAT IS APOLOGETICS?
Simply put, it is a defense of the Christian faith. It does not mean you are apologizing for being a believer! It comes from the Greek word "apologia" which essentially means "toward a defense". Some of the New Testament documents contain what one would term as "Christian apologetics".
WHY APOLOGETICS?
We now live in a Post-Modern, morally relativistic world. In a lot of folks minds, absolute truth or moral certainty are things of the past. How do we engage a feelings-based culture with the exclusive and demanding claims found in the Bible? Apologetics ministry is definitely part of the answer.
Backpack Apologetics exists to inform and equip Christians about the factual basis and modern day relevancy of the historic Christian faith.
