Back Pocket Material is a band local to Sydney, Nova Scotia and have been spotted playing with Trooper, Slowcoaster, Attack In Black, Hedley, and many other great bands. Back Pocket Material was formed in 2006 when singer Viktor Dugandzic brought up the idea of starting a band with Bassist Max MacKeigan. After a short time and a few line up changes BPM's sound was finially filled out by drummer Jordan Bruleigh. With this new addition BPM started to grow musically, getting away from simple classic rock covers a la Steve Miller, and focusing on more of a funk/groove based style of music. In Febuary of 2007, BPM entered the Savoy Theatre's Battle Of the Bands: Snow Jam, and Sydney River's best kept secret became an established local act. After about two months of compition, Back Pocket Material had managed to secure a spot in the top two along with St Peter's locals, Pink Thunder. Following a great compition with great bands involved, BPM came out on top. They then headed to smashbox recordings in Dominion, Nova Scotia to record a three song demo. About one year later, after returning from Shelburne, NS where the band had played a few days earlier, the band recorded a new single "City Of Angels". The single hit 50 on Soundclicks.com's rock charts, and is still on the charts now. The Band has recently inducted a new member, Scott Cuzner, the multi talented musician hailing from Glace Bay, NS. Cuzner's unique percussion styles and keen ear add tremendously to the musicianship of the band. BPM hit up Lake Wind Studio to record a new single recently, so keep an eye out for upcomming shows and releases!
