Backslide came from humble beginnings, at first the idea was to work off the stress of the salt mines by getting together with friends, and playing music. Those heady days were fueled by beer, tube amps and a mad scientist organ. The jam room was an eclectic mix of noise making equipment acquired from garage sales, thrift stores and odd jobs. As time passed recording gear was added, a new practice space was dedicated, and the music began to take shape. After too many years of rockin in the basement, several boxes of tapes, and a few full hard drives, a singer was recruited...he turned out to be the polygonic peg for the oddly shaped hole in our sound. The very first attempt at a song was magical and foreshadowed things to come. Finally, with an ever growing setlist, and our spouses patience, the future is now. Despite all of the curveballs life has thrown us, the music is what we come back to week in, week out.

Backslide	Jul 13 2009 4:35 PM Been a while since we've posted, the band got to play at some new venues this past month, Walnut Room and Benders, we've made some new friends and the feedback has been great (no more man-dals!). The band is looking forward to getting some recording done in the next few weeks, working on new material, and recharging the batteries. Thanks to all the dedicated Backsliders, we love you all.

Backslide	May 4 2009 3:09 PM Well, that was a helluva weekend...Saturday's outdoor show (first time for us) was a huge success, despite the spring weather we pulled it off and had a great family event, thanks to all who helped us out on this! Photos coming soon. Sunday's show at the Larimer was about as good as it gets...despite having to tear down our gear and set up again so one band could get out on time for a later gig, we rocked our hearts out...maybe not the best technical show, but certainly the best energy we've put out. We got lots of compliments and quite a few people got to see us. Thanks to all those who made it, pics coming soon. Next show is Lion's Lair, May 21, this is going to be our EP release party, come out and see us!

Backslide	Mar 11 2009 9:41 PM Well, another whirl wind of shows is done and gone. Thanks to everyone who came out for Lion's Lair last week and Larimer Lounge, last night, we had a great time. The band is going to be working on some new songs and recording our EP, stay tuned. We have a couple shows in the works for May, let us know where/when you'd like to see us! Backslide	Feb 6 2009 9:43 PM Hey all, just wanted to give an update...the band has been layin low workin on some new stuff, recording, and waiting out the winter doldrums. Next gig is at the Larimer Lounge, March 1st, so put it on your calendar, tix in the pics section. Check out the new recordings and tell us what you think, couple new songs and a few oldies...been having fun recording/mixing, time consuming, but fun.

Backslide	Nov 10 2008 11:58 PM Big hoo-ras for those who made it to our shows this last weekend. Old Curtis is a great place, and the bands that played before us were really good...check out Veronica if you can, they wail. The acoustic show for Liz's B-Day was a fun one, they raised a ton of money for the Denver Safe-House...to those who stayed for our set...we thank you! Acoustic was a huge change of pace for the band, and we'll pull it out again soon. Next gig is Lion's Lair, Nov 13, 9pm, b-there or b-square. One more show for '08, Dec 14th, Larimer Lounge, 6pm...another Sunday show...but this one is in support of the Broncos and the awesome season they are having...bottomless Margaritas/Bloody Marys during the game...$6...you can't not come...do it.
