An early morning fire Sunday morning has taken the lives of 2 beautiful children. Brothers Dawson (10) and Clayton (3) Mckinnon were killed in a tragic house fire at their home at Water St. in Fredonia NY. Their older brother and mother jumped to safety from a 3 story window while the father(Michael) barely escaped from below. The house and all of their belongings were completely destroyed. Jennifer Mckinnon is in ECMC after being badly burned and suffering from a collapsed lung.
I am part of a committee planning a fundraiser to help out Michael and his family in this time of dire need. A night with food,music,drinks and some healing is planned for Dec 6th. We are looking at starting the event at noon and running it till they kick us out. The idea is to have some non stop entertainment and a Chinese auction of donated goods. Any bands who would like to pitch in and either perform or donate some CD's, T Shirts etc...would be greatly appreciated. We are implementing a diverse line up of artists and bands in hope of offering something for everyone. I have already been in contact with a few bands and they have graciously agreed to participate. To those of my music friends seperated by distance any contribution of memorabilia would be awesome. Auctions at the event can lead to some much needed financial support. One gift basket I have an idea for is to be filled with bands CD's. Send me your CD's, expose yourself to some potential new fans and go to sleep at night knowing you did some good for some people who really need it.
